GL: New Guardians is for hardcore Lantern-heads. Casual readers can get into Johns run on Green Lantern, but Bedard is getting deeper into the Lantern-verse mythology with each issue. Multiple colored Corps’ are in and out of this title. For those of us that follow this corner of the DCU, this title is awesome in its detail. For others less conversant it must seem like taking a sip of water from a fire hose.
This is less a 0 issue and more recap. But there’s still lots of new info here. We see some of the events of the Green Lantern Annual from the perspective of Kyle and Carol. We get a great action scene with this unlikely pair also. Lots of foreshadowing and hints as to what’s to come. Great issue and recommended if you always have trouble picking a favorite color.
