Once again we’re reminded the Snake Eyes is the coolest Joe on the face of the planet.  If you don’t think he is he’ll jump from a moving plane just to prove it.

This book since Snake Eyes showed up almost felt like it could be called Snake Eyes Origins… oh yeah and G.I. Joe are there too.  Don’t get me wrong they established the other Joes quickly in this book so Hama can spend the time on Snake Eyes.

This book was the pick of the week for me, because out of two books this week it was the first to get me to actually laugh out loud and show my friend the scene of Snake Eyes jumping out of the plane, get up, and start running.  Oh wait I’m sorry the events were jump out of the plane, BOUNCE for 3-4 panels, and then start running after taking a breather on the ground for a panel.

I really like this issue because it shows and reaffirms for new people how driven Snake Eyes is and how his team is important to him.  He’s barely known these people since they’ve saved him but he’s willing to risk looking like a freak forever because they’re who saved him.  They’re the people who are his team and family now.

Also the art and coloring on this book fits.  It looks cartoony but is still serious when it needs to, also no one looks the same.  There are a lot of artists today that almost need a character to be in a mask to differentiate them.  Hawthorne does what G.I. Joe books need and that is individualism.  Everyone looks different.  There is a guy on Chimera’s team that doesn’t have a nose.  Why?  No Idea but I remember it, which rarely happens with lackeys anymore in books.

Did i mention that Snake Eyes is a pimp?

Story: 4 - Very Good
