Were you one of those kids who watched Animaniacs, even though it was supposed to target a younger age group?  Me, too.  It was one of those shows that was silly enough for kids, but smartly written anough for adults.  I feel the same way about G-Man.  It’s often funny and silly, but there’s some real plot here that doesn’t talk down to its readers, no matter their age.  The colors are bight, it’s visually entertaining, and the dialogue is fantastic.

The past couple of years seems like a real boon time for kids comics with the Boom! Pixar stories, Marvel’s The Wonderful Wizard Of Oz, and even DC’s Tiny Titans (which is aimed younger than any of the other titles on this list).  But among all these great comics, G-Man stands out to me as the finest superhero comic being written gor kids.  Chris Giarrusso (both writer and illustrator here) is an excellent creator.  And, while I’d love to see what he would do with a non-kids’ comic, I’m prefectly content to sit back and let him entertain my only slightly inner-child.

Story: 5 - Excellent
Art: 4 - Very Good

  1. I can’t trust a reviewer that craps on the brilliance of "New Avengers" yet raves about "G-Man."

  2. Then don’t read my reviews.

  3. I can, because he’s so right.
