This was a fairy good issue all round, I maybe would have liked for more to have happened in regards to Kass though.

I’d thought that this issue would lead up to her becoming Scandal Savage, but *minor spoiler*…nothing really happened. It was disappointing, but perhaps this was just my expectations, and love of Secret Six, that had taken over me. The cover for this issue certainly suggested some level of violence, as Vandal watched on would we see the birth of Scandal?! No, it would just be the sort of thing you’d expect at the end of an NCIS/Law & Order season, some big crime with some connection to the police officer’s family along the way. The dialogue was well written, and the flashbacks were a very nice touch, but overall I wasn’t as blown away by this issue (or this arc) as I could have been. Bernard Chang’s art (he pencilled, inked and colored this issue) is very good, as it has been every issue. Every character is distinct, and has great expressions and acting. The only very small criticism of the art that I have is that the action sequences didn’t feel as fluid as they should have. The layouts on these pages were very good though, I just had a sense of disconnect during this scene.

Overall, a fairly good arc. Definitely better than the Challengers of the Unknown one, but nothing in DC Universe Presents has blown me away yet.
