I’ve heard some not good things about this issue, but I think for what it is it’s done a really good job. With the whole transition of the Angel characters to Dark Horse they had to get a lot of things out of the way, and this issue did that while clearing up a few other things as well. As always, Jeanty’s art is great. It’s also great to see some of that trademark banter coming back to full form, but the real reason this issue is my personal pick of the week is because for me it had several “Oh Snap” moments, some of the panels, after I read them, literally made me say (out loud on a bus, to my embarrassment) “Oh Snap”, and to me that’s a sign of a great comic.

Story: 5 - Excellent
Art: 5 - Excellent

  1.  I would think that any appearance by an Angel character in Buffy Season 8 would be the characters prior to the end of Angel Season 5, right? Since Season 7 of Buffy was during Angel season 4. So does this mean the IDW After the Fall stuff (Angel season 6) is still in continuity for the Buffyverse, or will Dark Horse just do their own version of Angel season 6 now that they have the plan of publishing Angel alongside Season 9 of Buffy?

  2. @IroncaldMerc I think this article can sum things up far better than I ever could. http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=27967 But I think you’re correct, I mean, I’m assuming you’ve read this issue, so hopefully this isn’t too much of a spoiler, but Angel does speak briefly about how LA was a bit messed up, and that happened in the comics, so this must be after "After the Fall"
