  1. Your review makes me glad I never paid any attention to this series lol.

  2. Dark Knight #7 closes the first arc with a huge fight between Batman and Bane. Also, the secret of White Rabbit is revealed, and there are guest appearances by Superman and The Flash. I am still at a loss about how the whole toxin thing got resolved, but I enjoyed the pretty art.

  3. Good review.

When Bane was introduced in the early ’90s he was written as a very smart, master tactician guy. Unfortunately, that characterization has been wonky for quite a few years now. It seems like the natural pull is for writers to just treat him as another big strong oaf.

And, yeah, similar to the Flash’s recovery here, in Batman #6 there was no explanation of how Bruce all of a sudden got better and beat the Talon. Everyone seems to pick up on the failings of the writing in “Batman: The Dark Knight”, but when Snyder does some of the same things in “Batman”, no one sees it.

    • When someone writes Bane properly again, I will be happy.

Also, I see where you are coming from in Batman #6. I interpreted it as Batman over coming the mental challenges of that place and getting a burst of adrenaline or something because he didn’t want to give up yet. But that was left to your interpretation. That can be a good tool if done properly. But it also depends on the writing as a whole. If the story is good, you can over look that one thing that kinda didn’t make sense and it doesn’t bother you. But if the writing sucks, it stands out much more in my opinion. Which would be the case in this issue of TDK.
