I only have my compulsion to blame for hating the last 5 or 6 issues of this series. I just had to finish this story, but damn it I could have just wikipediaed it and found out the rest a few months down the road. The first 4 or 5 issues were very fun and very cool. I loved the Wacky Clay Face fight and all that but issue was maddening. I have no clue what happened through most of the book. Pages are filled with script font monologue blocks that take up two thirds of each page. It was contrived and rambling and admittedly I skimmed through the last 4 pages. The art is interesting the colors are very slick and give the book the same look as one of my drunken fever dreams. Batman is drawn to the extreme here, he is a giant mass of tumors muscle growth that would make Rob Liefeld mess himself, he has 18 inch ear spikes and a cape that is about 1 square mile wrapped around him. But for some reason I still liked the art. This is a great example of why a mini series works best in 4-6 issue chunks not year long drawn out max junk.

Story: 1 - Poor
Art: 3 - Good

  1. Well put. I enjoyed the extreme art. Batman was crazy looking, but the story was so lame. It really felt like nothing was happening.
