Gates Of Gotham #2 shouldn’t have come out on a wednesday that there wouldn’t be any other Batman/Gotham related titles on. If this were a week when Batman Inc or Batman & Robin came out, then Gates Of Gotham would make for a decent second helping of Batman to sink my teeth into while I was already in a Gotham state of mind, but it just doesn’t hold up on a week that no other Bat-book exists.

The story is just a little bit slow. I usually enjoy the Grayson as Bats story just as much as the Bruce Wayne as Batman tale, but now with another mini-series with Grayson as the leading role just makes things seem a little bit oversaturated now. I was hoping for something that felt more like Snyder’s run on Tec, but this just isn’t as good. I don’t know who is responsible, Snyder or the other guy, and it shouldn’t even really matter, but this just isn’t as interesting. I don’t know what else to say without spoiling anything.

Plus I’m just not a big Tim Drake fan.

Plus I thought Cassandra Cain was the second Batgirl. Not some Black Bat or whatever.

Plus Damian is starting to act like a dork. “I know everything about bombs” Shut up. Damian always acts like he is the man but we never get to see any flashbacks of his life before he came into the picture, like all this supposed training he has in everything from martial arts to detonating bombs. They really need to start focusing on that soon, or people aren’t gonna buy into his bullshit for much longer.

And don’t even get me started on the artwork. This guy has no business drawing a Batman book. He makes every character look years younger than they are supposed to look like. Tim Drake looks like he is 12 or so. This guy would be great on something like Jughead Meets Veronica, but this is Gotham, guys!!
