I buy this one every month now. I don't seem to understand why most people don't pull it. It's a fun to read book, not exactly Legends of the Dark Knight, but still a worthy successor nonetheless. Maybe the reason I like it is because Batman is my favorite super hero dude and I buy everything that is a Bat-book, except for Birds of Prey of course, that is just lame.
It does not seems like this story arc really ends the story in any logical sense, but the whole thing was pretty interesting from where I was standing anyway. Although the visuals in this series have been rather cartoony lately, that doesn't take anything away from the amount of graphic violence. I think the Joker has killed a least one person in every one of the four issues of this story so far, and he's just so funny about it too. I haven't heard funnier Joker jokes in a Batman comic in a really long time. Paul Dini's Joker says some funny things sometimes, but Morrison's seems like they are just trying to make him more scarey then anything, although obviously failing. But this Joker is funny.
Whatever, whatever. No matter what I say, it is not going to get anybody to sway away from buying the main Batman titles, especially with Battle For The Cowl about to hit it off, but I just wanted you all to know that there is still a comic book magazine out there that produces stories about the real Batman (Bruce Wayne), and actually does a pretty decent job of it at the same time. I'm just as eager to read next month's issue of Batman Confidential about King Tut as I am to read what's going to happen with all this Battle For The Cowl conspiracy, but then again, I'm a major Batman fan and that's just the way it is.
To make a long story short, if you are not the biggest Batman fan on Earth, and you only pull Bat-books from time to time, you are probably better off with sticking with the regular continuity series, but if you still need some Bat-action after that's all said and done, then get over to you local comic shop and start buying what is Batman Confidential. I'm pretty sure there are still a few copies left on the shelf!
