Battle For The Cowl tie ins are pretty “meh” or miss.  I can’t even remember what happened in the Commisioner Gordon one shot, but the two parts of the new Azrael story had enough substance to keep my eyes open until I got to the last pages.  The Man-Bat one shot was more pointless than it was boring, but the two parts of the Oracle story that I have read so far were slightly entertaining.  To keep in that particular pattern, the one shot I read last week called The Underground was some ugly looking crap that put some not very important backstory to the main Battle For The Cowl mini series into perspective, but this week’s one shot entitled The Network is a little more of what I call, “meh” instead of just straight up mud.
Most of Batman’s allies usually bore me.  Not to the point where I’m pulling my hair out, but yet I always feel as if there could be so much more character development going on with the actual Bruce Wayne/Batman that getting into so much detail about the lesser Gotham vigilantes just isn’t so necessary.  Although, things are different now.  The real Bruce Wayne fell of the edge of the Earth or whatever happened in that confusing Final Crisis story so now The Network is what we got, like it or not.  If you can get past that, then this little one shot might actually interest you a little…

Story: 4 - Very Good

  1. Bruce is trying to teach the natives English without much luck. I imagine a lot of trees are now being burned.
