Holy Sh*t–that was great.

Finally, a human story. Was this kind of good hiding the whole time in the godforsaken “rotworld” epic? Buddy’s pain hits you in your gut.

Basically, Buddy Baker watches himself in “Red Thunder” and we get to see the movie that made him famous. Cool mechnism. Very meta.

But it totally works. I’m shocked and disappointed that I didn’t get this kind of storytelling before now.

And let me say, I LOVE the art in this issue. Even though the rendering of the “movie” is very Aja/Hawkeye–it is perfect. The last few panels of “real”Buddy were much lighter in line and it was refreshing.

By far the best issue of this volume of Animal Man.
