History has shown us that Jeff Lemire does two things really well: Awkward family stories (Essex County) and supernatural mysteries (Sweet Tooth). Now we have both in one title, and it’s glorious.

Lemire is firing on all cylinders in this issue with a great artist to back him up. It’s kind of a superhero story, with a horror flavour and a strong Vertigo feel. This gives me hope that at least some of the New 52 will do what they say they’re going to do: Tell stories that look, feel and genuinely are different. Like the Animal Man says, DC: Evolve or Die.
