I'm left with mixed feelings after reading this issue.  Up until the end, I was enjoying this issue quite a bit.  I felt that Azaceta did a pretty good job on the art, it was pretty consistent though there were a couple moments where it seemed a bit off.  Waid wrote a pretty good story with Spidey, the new Vulture, and Jameson.  In the begining of the story, I liked that instead of it really being Jameson unconcious or something that it was actually someone the Vulture had killed, so Spider-man doesn't look completely retarded.  I thought the baseball play by play fight with the Vulture was very well done and entertaining and I liked that we found out more about the origin of the new Vulture. 

What I ultimately did not like about this issue, was that Peter doctors up some images to clear Jameson, and I have a couple of reasons why.  First of all, how in the world does this prove that Jameson is innocent?!?!  The whole reason the Vulture was after him was because he though Jameson made him that way!!!  If anything, the pictures would imply that Jameson did create him and the Vulture was coming back for revenge.  I understand that the public does not know that is the reason he attacked Jameson, but doesn't it seem a bit odd that he would attack Jameson after that news was broken?  I think my main problem with this, however, is that it is very out of character for Peter to do something so unethical and stupid....and I say its stupid because he left a picture of the ex mayor's family in the background of the doctored photo.  Why did peter have a picture of the mayors office from before Jameson was mayor anyways?  Doesn't make a whole lot of sense. 

Anyways, I rate the issue a 3/5 because other than the ending it was a pretty good issue.  And even though an unemployed Peter Parker is something that has been done before, combined with the whole Gauntlet storyline it could make or some interesting reading, I just wish they would have come up with a more believeable way to do it.
