I’ve never written a review before but after reading Prog 1807 I felt compelled to do so.

For those 2000AD virgins out there, the comic is a weekly anthology comprising 5 seperate ongoing series.

Back to Prog 1807. The first panel of the Judge Dredd story ‘The Cold Deck’ sets things up beautifully. A serously injured Judge laying in a hospital bed reading a booklet titled ‘Your new sphincter and you’. Brilliant.

I don’t want to spoil the Prog for anyone but there are some great twists & surprises within it, so much so that I think I actually cheered at one point. ‘The Cold Deck’ is a quite brilliant Dredd story building up to its conclusion in Prog 1812.

The real beauty of 2000AD for me is the vastly differing storytelling and art styles contained within each Prog. From the futuristic super detailed ‘ABC Warriors’ to the elegant cartoony style masking a somewhat sinister story in ‘Brass Sun’.

I urge you my comic loving brothers and sisters from across the pond, if you try one new comic this week, please make it this one.
