SUICIDE SQUAD (BLACKEST NIGHT) #67

Original SUICIDE SQUAD writer John Ostrander and Gail Simone resurrect The Suicide Squad as they take on BLACKEST NIGHT and the Secret Six! The Fiddler has risen from the dead, and he’s targeting Deadshot and anyone who stands in his way. But someone else has targeted Deadshot – the Suicide Squad! Everything is about to hit the Wall (Amanda Waller, that is) – and this Wall hits back!

Continuing this month’s one-issue revival of classic DC Universe titles, this epic story carries into January’s SECRET SIX #17!

  1. From the image on previewsworld.com it looks like the cover won’t resemble the comics of the era. That’s disapointing.

  2. I want to try Suicide Squad so badly, cause I hear wonderful things about it.

But there are no trades of the original series out yet. But a Showcase is coming out in March I believe….I would love to see a trade that is actually in color though.

  3. So looking forward to this. Wonder if I can find my original 66 issues of Suicide Squad, so I can slap this at the end of it? They’re somewhere in my 50+ longboxes of comics in the garage…  😉

  4. @daccampo – I’ve only got about 9 long boxes, so getting this one in its proper spot shouldn’t be very hard. Looking forward to this one too!

@TNC – Any SQUAD should be better than no SQUAD. And, according to Amazon, that edition isn’t coming out until June 8th now. 🙁 Sorry, man.

  5. I’ve been getting Squad books out of the quarter bin for a while now @ my LCS,

the last one I found was #66 so I’m ready for this Secret Six two part story.

  6. totally forgot dc was doing this they should have hyped it more i mean with the undead books

  7. @JeffR: Bah! Curse DC and their messed up trade program!

Your right though, anything is better then nothing. I’m not a fan of those Showcase trades, but it’ll have to do for now.

  8. Wasn’t this Showcase supposed to have come out like 2 years ago orginally? Does this mean we might get thst Captain Carrot Showcase too?

  9. Oh this was really dense, wordy and really unenjoyable if you don’t normally read Secret Six. I enjoyed the bit with Bane being Scandal’s protective over brother. Not bad, but it just was boring and didn’t involve me at all as a reader. The concept of the resurrected titles is cool but… so far this hasn’t been a bright spot.

  10. Another great issue of Secret Six … uh, I mean Suicide Squad (Blackest Night) … (what was the point of this again?).Ah well, at least we got an extra issue of Secret Six, with another one next week!

  11. *sigh* Another boring tie-in. I enjoyed the tiger though. That splash page was the only reason why it’s a two as the writing was supposed to make me care about these characters but didn’t do so. Better luck next time though.

  12. Nicola Scott’s absence is really starting to bug me.  I hope she comes back or someone else does.

  13. "I have provided you with a pad & pen. Please provide a list of all known diseases & sexual partners."

  14. "I don’t like to hurt children. Well, yes, in fact, I do…"
