SPIDER-WOMAN TP AGENT OF SWORD

What happens when an innocent person emerges from the trauma of captivity only to return to a life even more hellish? Delivered from captivity on an alien world, Spider-Woman has returned to an Earth ravaged by a deadly Skrull invasion led by her shape-shifting impostor.

Now, she must cope with having the face of public enemy No. 1 – and the trust of none. None, that is, except the mysterious Abigail Brand of S.W.O.R.D. Charged with safeguarding Earth from alien threats, Brand arrives at Jessica Drew’s doorstep with a job offer and – should she choose to accept it – a chance for redemption.

  1. I’m still a bit miffed at how this book turned out.  Delay after delay just for the motion comic, Jessica Drew had one expression throughout the whole book, the art was hard to look at, and then poof, canceled.  I wonder if Marvel will try again, I’d buy it.  Can’t they start at issue #8 with a new creative team?  Why does Bendis have to write everything?

  2. Its in his contract.

  3. Oh.  Guess that’s why I’m only buying Fantastic Four Three.

  4. Just goes to show that loving a character is not enough to write a good series starring said character. Really, I think Bendis turned more people off Spider-Woman than he turned on. Maybe Chris Claremont can show him how it’s done. His 80s work on the character was some of his best writing outside of X-Men.
