SHADOWLAND POWER MAN #2 (OF 4)

The war for New York’s soul escalates big time when Luke Cage and Iron Fist take on the all-new, all-different Power Man! Who is the kid that can mop the floor with them both? And if that wasn’t bad enough, the worst villains from Luke and Danny’s past are crawling out of the woodwork en masse to take them on: Cockroach Hamilton! Comanche! Specs! Seor Muerte! Discuss! Stiletto! Why has this flash mob of colorful criminality suddenly swarmed against our heroes — and what role does it play in the long-term schemes of The Hand?

  1. So far the best part of the Shadowland event.

  2. The first issue of this was my POTW when it came out, as it featured an interesting new character and was genuinely enjoyable. Hoping the trend continues here.

  3. So long as the kid and his family don’t start speaking Spanglish than I’m all in!

  4. Liked the first issue quite a bit, hoping this stays just as good.

  5. This was really good but dropped down a star by the 70’s villains that haven’t changed at all since the 70’s.

  6. Good issue, but there were some problematic transitions and flow. That flashback at the start of the book didn’t really fit into the issue that well and it was distracting. THere were some cute references to the Warrirors and I’m enjoying the new Power Man, but the issue did seem a little rushed. Asrar’s art was great. 3/5

@Minion You dropped it because of a joke?

  7. Funny, the ridiculous villains were my favorite part of this issue, ESPECIALLY Mister Fish! This issue had more of what I loved from the last one, and I’m really digging this new character and his background.

  8. @PraxJarvin I understand it was a joke but I wanted some real villain development not just a cavalcade of jokes. I did find them funny but they never felt like a threat so there was no drama to the action sequence. It was fun, and I loved the book but I feel that with every new Hero there should be a villain to rise up with him and become a threat not just some bowling pins. It was still a four star book even without a clear villain.

  9. All the villians I never heard did make it a little difficult to follow, but otherwise I enjoyed it. Lost out at POTW to Astonishing Spider-man and Wolverine

  10. Loved the Warriors reference.  A real "Oh no he didn’t!" moment for me.  Great stuff.
