  1. After reading Jeff Parker on Agents of Atlas I’m giving this a chance. But seriously, is there any other mainstream title that has been rebooted with a new number one more?

  2. At the risk of sounding negative, that cover is fucking awful. Is it just me, or does everyone look like a seven year old with a giant rack?

  3. Yeah I only take solice in the fact that the interiors are by someone else. If the interiors looked like the cover I’m not sure I could pick it up.

  4. Looks good… I’m torn though since I’m still catch up on the earlier series via trade and don’t want anything spoiled.

  5. Jeez. I guess I’m one of the few actually excited for this. I’m hoping we get away from the Claremont takeover and have some good old-fashioned Exiles awesomeness.

  6. I have no attatchment to exiles, and these characters don’t immediately seem interesting to me, but I like that Jeff Parker quite a bit. I’m giving it a shot!

  7. @cubsmodano

Skip the Claremont stuff…seriously…for the love of the almighty if you take no other advice in your life take this piece and skip the Crapmont issues.

As far as having anything spoiled, Blink is the only character that has been in it before and, according to an interview with Parker (that is weird for me to type) most of the characters will be brand new to the Marvel U as a whole, so you should be pretty safe.

  8. Also jumping on this based solely on Parker and the fact that his has nothing at all to do with any of th apparently mediocre to bad Claremont run.

  9. Polaris and Forge is back I was hoping they died or something so Havok’s ex-girlfriend and the X-Men’s number one mechanic is now a member of the Exiles along with the Black Panther and the Beast I just hope this comic book is gonna be a smash I’m willing of getting me copy if I get a chance.

  10. I was going to check this out because of Jeff Parker, and then I realized it’s $3.99.

Another title for the trade-waiting list…

  11. Polaris!!!!!

  12. If I belived in a God, I would get down on my knees and thank It that the non-sensical mediocrity of Claremont has left this title.

  13. @Spoon It’s only 3.99 for the extra-length ("Director’s Cut-style extras") first issue. The solicits for the next two are listed at 2.99 at the normal page count.

  14. the last Exile robot wasnt that good. so i may pass on this or wait for TB to come to Barnes and Noble to read it.

  15. Can someone tell me what is important to know about Polaris and Blink? They have long and complicated wikipedia entries, but it’s hard to figure out what’s cool about them and what makes them significant from that.

  16. This book is doomed to fail…who thought it was good idea to restart the Exiles for what seems like the tenth time!!  I’d rather read a Slapstick ongoing!!

  17. OMG this is what EXILES is all about. Exiles back to its roots

  18. Yeah this issue was awesome. And apparently NONE of the characters have been seen before, even Blink.

The best scene was Morph trying to explain the dilemma of killing Hitler and Forge not understanding until he replaced baby Hitler with baby Ghandi. Loads of awesome.

The art was also much better than I expected. Still a little cartoony but not in a bad way. It also had a lot more detail than I expect to see with that style. Very nice.

  19. Just about to read this, but I have to say I saw the Wolverine variant on this one and it’s among the worst covers I’ve ever seen. It is comedic.

  20. @NealAppeal  Polaris/Lorna Dane is (probably) Magneto’s daughter and has a similar power set.  She’s extremely intelligent (trained as a geophysicist) and is a character who has frequently been stated *could* be one of the most powerful mutants but can’t get her head together.  She’s crazy or distracted or has family problems (screwed up relationship with Magneto) or she gets brainwashed/ kidnapped/turned evil.  She’s also (probably) the half sister of Scarlet Witch/Wanda Maximoff but they’ve never had much if any of a relationship depicted within the comics.

What’s *interesting* about her, here, is that this seems to be a version of Polaris who HAS gotten her act together and is a formidable hero/potential leader.  Plus she’s given a chance to work on a team with her sister.  Both of those things make this a really interesting situation for her!

    I don’t know a thing about Blink :).
