  1. This COULD be very, very good.  I think it is going to depend greatly on how much input Mr. David had.  I’m going to flip through it to see if the writing is where it should be before I decide to buy.

  2. So is this The Gunslinger or more "prelude" stories?

  3. This sounds just like the first book.  I’d think it’s no longer prelude and now up to the book continuity.

  4. I think it’s the first book.

  5. *gasps* If this is the first book getting adapted then I can finally die and go to heaven.

  6. @TheNextChapmion…  I’m ready to see Detta/Odetta/Susannah and Eddie.  I can tell it’s coming!

  7. So glad that they didn’t let this end with the last mini like originally planned.

I think losing Lee on art is going to take some getting used to, but Phillips is an interesting replacement and I am very much looking forward to this.

  8. I was under the impression that this mini is still more backstory (taking place before The Gunslinger) but I could totally be wrong.

Not sure how I feel about it if they are starting to adapt the existing books. On one hand, seeing Jake in this mini and Susannah and Eddie in the next is a very exciting prospect. On the other hand, I’ve really been enjoying all the minis since the first because they were telling stories I hadn’t read before and fleshing out Roland’s life in a very compelling way, and I was looking forward to more of that.

Either way, with Sean Phillips taking over on the art I won’t be missing this book.

  9. This looks like it is a bit of a mix of the original novel and backstory.

  10. I’m not trying to shit on Sean Phillips or Isanove, but Jae Lee will be sorely missed on these Dark Tower books.

  11. @JesseG – You are correct.

  12. @JesseG: Couldn’t agree more. I like Phillips ok, but it totally looks like Roland is shotgunning the ghost of his dead love on this cover. One of the worst kissing images I’ve ever seen.
