AVENGERS ORIGIN #5 (OF 5)

The big finale! All-out war on the Isle of Silence! The climactic showdown on Earth! Is the Hulk the true villain? Or does Loki’s revenge plot have even deeper ramifications to humanity? And who actually thought of the name “Avengers”? You might’ve read the 1963 original, but you really have no idea how it all ends!

  1. Man I don’t want this to end

  2. Ditto. Noto’s art is just beautiful, and the story has been perfect for handing out to my "uninitiated" friends. Love it.

  3. @Bassoonjedi:  I’ve also given this to a couple of friends who don’t read comics after they couldn’t figure out why the SDCC Avengers panel was such a big deal and it’s peaked their interest a bit.

I’m not real big on the art in this book though, I think would be great if somebody else inked it, but the (lack of) inking makes it really flat for me.

  4. @malecema normally I’m the same way with uninked art, like Doug Braithwait whose stuff looks terrible uninked, or Pascual Ferry, but with Noto I think it works, especially for this book.

  5. I concurr, to ink his stuff would just spoil it. The clean lines and ethereal qaulity is what sets it apart for me. Like they are animated stills from Disney Studios.
