Comments

  1. I really dig Hardman’s Namor.

Kelly’s Catwoman is sweet too. I like the knee pads at the top of her boots. Nice touch.

Fowler’s Batman looks like he just lost a fight and he’s pouting about it. "Allllfred. He hit me really hard. All I did was throw a batarang into his chest. He started it!"

  2. The Kelly sketch is amazing.

Samnee’s Thing is remenicent of Kirby’s.

  3. Mr. Fowler’s Batman makes me want to hide in the closet.  Such anger.

  4. @Valo Samnee is just crushing that Kirby style lately, and I’m in love. That Namor is also just killer.

  5. Something about the simplicity of Kuhn’s Batman really does it for me.

  6. Namor FTW here, though Catwoman & Thing are both damned awesome.

  7. Paul Montgomery (@fuzzytypewriter) says:

Favorites are the Fowler and Kuhn Batmen. So different and so good.

  8. That Kuhn piece is beautiful!

Thank goodness I didn’t suggest anything this week because most of mine where Bats related too. Wonder if there is something going on in the artist community.

That being said, it’s not a sketch but this picture of Batman and Robin knocked it out of the park for me this week: http://eiko-chan.deviantart.com/art/Sleepwalk-162101982

  9. Loving the Breitweiser and Samnee pieces.

  10. Kuhn’s sketch is the best for me. Technically it has the least amount of detail in the sketches provided, but it looks so beautiful.

  11. The Fowler Batman is one of the prettiest things I’ve ever seen, and man oh man do I love Ryan Kelly.  He did me a Polaroid Boyfriend last SDCC, and it’s one of my favorite possessions!

  12. Tom Fowler’s Batman is so atmosheric, so beautiful, and the colors are a nice painted landscape like Ben Templesmith meets Tony Daniel. And Ryan Kelly can do super heroines no wrong, why isn’t he at work at DC or Marvel?!?!!?!

  13. I’m all about that Samnee art for me this week. Brilliant example of the truly legendary Kirby style that’s easily recognized but so hard to capture while still keeping it fresh. Huzzah!

  14. Paul Montgomery (@fuzzytypewriter) says:

Fowler’s piece is also proof that he can tackle any style or genre and do it masterfully.

  15. Um…yes.  Those are all awesome.

  16. an amazing namor! wow…i want that!

  17. That Andy Kuhn Batman is brilliant. Nothing against the others, but being able to do more with less is always a mark of a great artist.

  18. They are all good, but i really love the Catwoman and the Thing ones the most.
