*Storm
Sucking all the artisitc talent out of the sketches. Soon I will have enough to clone my own Alex Robinson or Tom Fowler.
Also… does Hobbes look hungry to you? Run, Calvin, run.
aw man, Canete is fantastic
I love Fowler’s “Calvin and Hobbes” and Michael Cho’s “Wonder Woman” but once again I am caught staring at Scottie Young and going, I NEED MORE OF THIS IN MY COMICS!
Calvin and Hobbes is my favorite comic strip ever and that sketch is fantastic.
Also, I think I just fell in love with Sue Storm.
That Phil Noto piece reminded me of Armor’s existence. Forgot about her.
I would totally read that Logan’s Angels book.
I know he’s kinda busy, but Mignola’s got to get Skottie Young on a Hellboy book pronto.
Skottie Young sealed himself as my favourite artist with that Hellboy picture. It’s just…. so gorgeous.
Quitely’s pencil line is amazing.
@WeaklyRoll Have you seen Francesco Francavilla’s version of Calvin & Hobbes…fanDAMNtastic.

All the comictwart guys did a great job interpreting C&H.
Anyone else use this column as their weekly wallpaper selection for phones, computers, etc.? This week=Calvin and hobbs
Is it just me or has the quality of the weekly sketch ups selections become mind blowingly impressive lately?? Damn
There are those times when we see an artist’s skill level jump to a whole new level. It happended with Travis Charest and Jerome Opena. I think now we’re seeing it happen with Eric Canete.
As a guy who likes to sketch the occasional superhero, looking at Frank Quitely’s art work leaves me in awe everytime, dude is crazy talented.
@jwaesch: I DO! Every week. This week it’ll probably be Wonder Woman and Hellboy.
Kinda impossible to pick a favorite this week. Some wonderful stuff here. I love Fowler’s “realistic” approach to Hobbes. Canete’s one of those artists that draws like I think. It’s weird. Jones’ skectch makes me miss Hot Eve. Invible or not, her current thighs would give even Mark Grayson a bruisin.
Man, good pick from a crop of fantastic Calvin and Hobbes sketches this week! Loved Francavilla’s, as always.
Atom Eve’s head is ginormous compared to her body lol,
love me some skottie young
