User Reviews ran three miles up and three miles down

This past week the User Reviews have been through the toughest training the Army has to offer, under the worst possible circumstances, and they volunteered for it. And for that, we salute you.

flapjaxx salutes the rank and not the man in Uncanny X-Men #520. Story 4 / Art 3

Wow, this was the best issue of this series in a looong time. By my count there are ZERO Fraction mischaracterizationisms in this issue. It's almost as if Fraction recognized a few out-of-character turns of the past few issues and went a fair distance out of his way to set things right.

FraggleUprising says that once we get into combat, the only people you can trust is yourself and Mark Waid, the writer of Incorruptible #2. Story 4 / Art 4

What I like best about Incoruptible thus far is the mixture of boredom and pragmatism that Max Damage seems to bring to being a superhero.  The Plutonian has gone mad and the world is in chaos, so for Max Damage that means it's time to give up crime and be the hero that the world needs.

Invasionforce (who is aptly named) doesn't know whether to slap, kiss, or salute Incredible Hercules #140. Story 4 / Art 4

One of the aspects of this comic that makes it so great is that [Greg] Pak and [Fred] Van Lente are capable of throwing off witty lines with such consistency.  For instance, in issue 138 when Aphrodite is about to make mad and passionate love to Ares she says, “Ah, sex and violence.  Together again.”  This issue doesn’t have any such lines.  Oh well, no one bats a thousand.

Zeppo says about Amazing Spider-Man #616, "he's all right, that kid." Story 5 / Art 5

That was better than I expected. Dan Slott has been hinting that he and Mr. Martin would be teaming up on a Mysterio story, so my expectations were high. A talented Spider-man writer, an artist whose skill suprises me every time and a villian who needs a revamp.

  1. It is an honor and a privilege to be featured. Thanks, man. 🙂

  2. Incredible Hercules has been extremely disappointing since Assault on New Olympus started. Somehow the ceiling has been reached for Pak/Van Lente and it’s just not a good comic book anymore. I actually can’t wait to see this end, or at least this era of Hercules anyways.
