On Monday, The CW announced that Smallville will wrap up its 10 year run on May 13th with a special two-hour final episode.
Exciting! And also bewilderingly sad! Will we finally see Tom Welling don the red and blue union suit? Will be finally get to fly? Will Michael Rosenbaum make an appearance? Will we have a giant Smallville viewing party for the finale like we did for the Geoff Johns written two hour Justice Society of America episode? So many questions!

Was it All-Star Superman where they introduced the idea that Superman’s suit was the traditional dress for Kryptonians? That idea completely justifies the tights IMO.
Will Darkseid actually show up?
Will there be a marriage?
Will we get ‘real’ Lex or clone Lex?
Did we know this show was ending? Is this a gut-punch for longtime fans?

I need to catch up with the seasons before I watch this! I need to quickly netflix seasons 6-10 then…
I think that I knew this was ending…but I was reserving hope that they would continue it at the last minute due to the popularity.
While I dropped off this show somewhere around the 3rd or 4th season (thanks for that consistant schedule, WB/CW), I will certainly check out this finale. Any time a show – especially a genre show – reaches 10 years, it’s cause for celebration.
I’ve been a long time fan but I kind of want this to wrap up. There was yet another flying teaser in the last episode. I want him to put on the suit and kick some ass and not in the Doomsday v. Clark crappy fight scene kind of way.

The fans need 2 hours
It’s going to take 2 hours for Welling to fit into that Superman suit. The fella puts on just a little more weight every year.
Never cared for the show, never had an interest in it and never watched it…
…but I can’t believe it’s been a decade since it started and it’s become such a staple it’s odd to see it ending.
Bittersweet that its ending, but i cannot wait to see this!

Flesh and blood Darksied vs Superman fight!
Clark in glasses disguise already!
Jonathan, Martha and Perry White return!

And of course… some sort of surprise I can’t yet think of…
I know that the whole ifanboy crew is busy, but it would be really cool if someone did a Smallville retrospective podcast, videocast, or an article of the whole series. I would love to hear what the ifanboy guys have to say about it.
