"You got enough panels there Griswold? Where you gonna put 'em?"
"Bend over and I'll show you."
"You can't talk to me like that!"
"I wasn't talking to you!"
Action Comics #894
By Paul Cornell, Pete Woods, Brad Anderson, and Rob Leigh
Okay, this particular page has been making the rounds a lot, appearing in previews and the DC Nation spot in the back of every DC comic in circulation this week. But I've been in love with it since the moment I saw it. Luthor and Death, two characters we never imagined together, in a page of sublime comic storytelling. She necrotizes his nose. And it's kind of adorable.

Incognito: Bad Influences #1
By Ed Brubaker, Sean Phillips, and Val Staples
It's odd, Zack, because it looks fun.

Ultimate Spider-Man #15
By Brian Michael Bendis, Sara Pichelli, Justin Ponsor, and Cory Petit
Who saw that coming? Did you see that coming? I didn't. Not at all. We're flippin' the J. Jonah script!

Hellblazer: City of Demons #2
By Si Spencer, Sean Murphy, Dave Stewart, and Sal Capriano
I actually fell off the Hellblazer wagon several months ago, for no real discenerable reason. But when I saw that Sean Murphy (Joe the Barbarian) would be lending pencils to a new mini-series, I had to jump on it. It's turned out to be one of the most visually stunning books of the year. In my mind, this guy's doing a quintessential John Constantine. His take on the character is pitch perfect, with charm, fury, and just the right dosage of haggard. Then there's his take on out-and-out horror. The people of London are infected by a demon virus of sorts, and it's led to some grizzly behavior. One poor bloke used his own eyes as pincushions, and this bird…well…she's gotten even more creative. Read. This. Book.

Hellblazer: City of Demons #2
By Si Spencer, Sean Murphy, Dave Stewart, and Sal Capriano
Yes, Paul already did 2, but I've got to do this one. This guy finally tested the theory. Talking to your in-laws is actually NOT WORSE than sticking hot pins in your eyes. If he didn't check, how would we know for sure?!

So has it become routine to add Action Comics everytime now? Not that I’m complaining, but it sure seems like everytime that books comes out its a shoo-in to be on this list, and more than once even like the last issue that had like 3 panels appear on the list.
Blame Pete Woods and Paul Cornell for being so awesome.
All of these are freaking awesome.
a throwaway panel featuring a character called "GI Gorilla" is enough to make the imagination run wild.
I am very excited to see JJJ as super duper pro Spider-Man. So many possibilities!
The inking on Hellblazer looks so old school!!
i have been wanting to start the new USM run, now i have a reason. I love JJJ stories.
Kudos on the National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation reference by the way.
"Shitter was full!"
Action had a bunch of great panels this week. My fav was where Lex is trying to bargain with Death, and she asks for a magic singing pony.
Also, Sean Murphy should be drawing all of the comics.
Brubaker and Phillips always know how to make the goofy seem cool. I love how the Gorilla LOOKS crazed and savage … while still in his proper Army uniform.
Is there an iFanboy video show on Hellraiser? I thought the new book set in the middle-east by Jock looked good, but I am wondering what the classic’s are?
I saw the Keanu Reaves movie on AMC this week for the first time. I didn’t really like it.
It’s called Hellblazer, there’s definitely a show or two talking about it.
@PymSlap: You might want to check this out.
@ gogbo & @ conor
