Nothing, but nothing beats a badass moment from Cap'n Steve. There were all sorts of wonderful things in this issue, but this moment here was my absolute favorite. Cap'n Steve walks in to see Ross, and Ross gives him the tiniest hint of attitude, and they just turn around and walk out. The economy and subtlety of this scene, in terms of writing, art, and color all worked together.

It's just your standard heroic pose, sure. But my inner 8 year old still geeks the fuck out whenever I see Snake-Eyes do anything badass. And taking out a whole bunch of dudes and then striking a pose as the smoke clears? When I turned the page and saw this staring at me, my inner child's heart soared.

This whole issue was a wonderful study on character for almost everyone featured. Once again, a moment of truth came up, and Rick's right in the middle of making the hard choice. It cannot end well. This was so well played.

I’m going to assume Steve beats the shit out of Ross for giving him the ‘wrong attitude’.
My favorite panel goes towards the end of Fantastic Four. Not the final page; but the last official panel. It has Silver Surfer in it and I’ll all say is that what he says gave me goosebumps. Especially when I turned that last page and that panel made it even more spooky.
Love that Snake Eyes panel.

And re Snake eyes: It’s really hard to go wrong when composing a panel with triangles. There’s a reason that pose works… 🙂
