SIN CITY Sequel Film Ready To Go? Robert Rodriguez Says… Almost

Robert Rodriguez's Frank Miller's Sin City is one of our favorite comic book movies. Last year, I ranked it number 16 on my list of the Top 50 Modern Comic Book Movies.

If you're like me you've thought to yourself, "Hey, there are so many rich story veins to mine in Frank Miller's Sin City world… I'd love to see another film!" Well, according to an interview with We Got This Covered, that may be happening soon. Here's what Rodriguez said on the subject of another Sin City movie:

Sin City 2 is going good, we’re just finishing the script for that, we already got the money. We have everything we need so we can just start shooting as soon as we get the pages. And it’s the same thing for Machete 2. We’ve already got the budget, just waiting for the script. As soon as we’re finished writing we get to start the shoot.

So… maybe? I know better than to believe anything in Hollywood until I see it but I want to believe.

I wonder if they'll drop Frank Miller's name from the title.

Comments

  1. My wife laughed all the way through the first one. I wonder if the second one will be just as silly.

  2. Oooh, been looking forward to this since part 1 came out.
    Hopefully next year then.
    And another Machete? Sweet

  3. “Dame to Kill For” and what else?

  4. Yeah this has been in the works forever.

Would love to see more Marv aka Mickey Rourke. Still think that segment alone is better then most comic book films.

  5. I don’t think this is ever gonna happen. I remember Frank Miller saying something along these lines when the spirit came out. The original is still my favorite comic book movie.

  6. I thought they had scrapped this to be honest, hadn’t heard anything in so long, loved the first film. So this is good news

  7. I would love to see this happen. The first is one of my favorite “adapted from a comic movies” ever.

  8. I heard that the two other stories are new ones written just for the film by Frank along with A Dame to Kill For. I don’t think that they should replace Britany Murphy’s character though, she was so amazing in the last one, R.I.P.

  9. Yeah, i was embarrassed by the first film when i dragged friends along to see it. It was too long, silly and not good

  10. @JokersNuts: Most likely “Hell and Back”. Though Miller claims to have written a new story involving Nancy and Marv (pre “Hard Goodbye” obviously) when the sequel buzz started all those years ago. There are other stories from “Booze, Broads, and Bullets” and “Family Values”, but they’re not quite substantial enough to support a film.

  11. Sin City is one of my most favorite comic book films ever, and after I saw it I was eagerly awaiting news for a sequel that never came, and at this point, I just dont care anymore. I think most people dont care anymore either, so it may just be better to leave the first film alone. It sure as hell is a polarizing film, you either love it or absolutely hate it.

  12. @Edward
That’s just, like, your opinion, man.

  13. He’d say the same thing about the Madman movie, too…
