Sega to Unleash the Power of THOR Upon Thy Favorite Gaming System

"Bow, pretender! I shall end thee, Kratos!"

Sega is teaming with Marvel Entertainment to bring our favorite thunder god to every popular gaming system on the market in 2011, it is just as popular as the elitist gaming trend.

Matt Fraction served as story consultant on this epic scale, third-person actiongame which promises to take Thor through the vast realms of Norse Mythology in a bid to save Asgard  from advancing titans. Thor is set to battle towering Frost Giant and Trolls, as well as commonly misspelled villains like Ulik, Ymir, and Surtur, all the while racking up Valor points to trick out his armor, weapons, and abilities. PS3 and Xbox 360 iterations of Thor: The Video Game will focus on the grandiose scale of Thor's world and rogues gallery, offering 25 foot enemies and a take-down system reminiscent of Sony's Shadow of the Colossus. The Wii and PSP versions follow the same story line, but present a "uniquely styled comic book look." As for the Nintendo DS, it's 2D side-scrolling all the way, with a different narrative exclusive to the handheld.

Prepare to wield the mighty Mjolnir, verily and virtually, in 2011.

Comments

  1. I really hope this is better than the iron man games. Fraction’s script was the highlight of the game, too bad the voice acting was sketchy

  2. I say thee… yay!

  3. Why from Sega? Has Marvel not learnt their lesson yet from Iron-man 1 and 2

  4. The problem is people still bought Iron-Man 1-2, so people will probably buy this also.

  5. If the Iron Man games are any indication, we don’t have much to look forward to in terms of gameplay. But reading the solicit of this, it sounds like ripoff of both God of War and Shadow of the Colossus. The less original they are, the better, as that gameplay set to an Asgardian/Mythic environment makes me more excited than I really should be.

I mean, Thor vs. the Midgard Serpent? Team up with Hercules? Space battles with Beta Ray Bill? ALONE AGAINST THE CELESTIALS?!?! God damn it, there goes my cynicism.

  6. i say thee nay!   this will be crap
