Comments

  1. Small week; only Hellboy: The Storm and Sweet Tooth. Might as well wait next week to get this stuff and others.

BQ: The Walking Dead. Not much else looking forward too the rest of the year other then that.

  2. Um…no books for me this week.  Man.  That can’t be right. My wallet shrieks with joy.

And is anybody gonna say anything other than The Walking Dead?

  3. BQ: New shows? Jeez, nothing I’ve seen, really. Looking forward to the return of some of my faves, like Castle, How I Met Your Mother and The Big Bang Theory.

  4. Holy Crap! 1 book, this can’t be right.

And i thought Brightest Day was only 8 issues…

     BQ: Shit my Dad Say.

  5. That’ll teach me to start scrolling down…

Scarlet #2, Wolverine #1, Marvel Univserse Vs Punisher #3 & Last Family of Krypton #2

  6. Average week for me: Franken-Castle, Sweet Tooth, Hawkeye and Mockingbird, and the book that will no doubt be my pick of the week Freedom Fighters. Oh, and I may also pick up that second printing of Morning Glories if I cant find a first print at my new store.

BQ: The only real show thats got my motor running is The Walking dead, although that FX show Terriers looks interesting. Now that being said I’m looking forward to the triumphant return of some of my favorite shows like The Venture Brothers, Community, Parks and Recreations, and Sons of Anarchy

  7. Stumptown! Proof! really nice to see more issues of them.

Nice to see new issues, of those. Too bad they’re the end of runs for both.

  8. just two books this week, Brightest Day and Childrens Crusade. and i have gotten the latest volume of walking dead, anyone here wanna recomend something for me to pick up in trade now? non-superhero? was thinking Northlanders.

BQ: Undercovers by JJ Abrams, and the new Hawaii Five-0, only because of Daniel Dae Kim, well and proabbly because of Grace Park.

  9. BQ: Walking Dead (somehow) and Community.

  10. A light week for me: Avengers: Children’s Crusade #2, Brightest Day #9, Scarlet #2, and Shadowland #3.

    BQ: Definitely, The Walking Dead!

  11. Only ASM: Black Cat and Incredible Hulk for me this week.

BQ: The only new show I’m looking forward to is Walking Dead, but I just got into It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia so it will new for me to watch.  Also looking forward to my favs: Fringe, Big Bang Theory, Community, The Office, and 30 Rock!!!

  12. is actually looking forward to Brightest Day again.

Looking forward to that new HBO Prohibition era show. Looks awesome.

  13. Something has been bothering me a bit about this website.

There is a lot of participation in general; however, the people who review books don’t get a lot of love/criticism. I’d like to see more interaction with the review section of the site.

I know I’ve been trying to post feedback for the hardworking reviewers.

It would be nice if people weren’t reviewing books in a vacuum.

  14. Nada mucho for yours truly this week.

BQ: This fall is going to be insane with good shows: Walking Dead, Dexter, Sons of Anarchy, East Bound & Down… TV Heaven.

  15. Only 2 books this week, that can only mean I’ll have 10 next week…

BQ:  I’m most looking forward to the return of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and I’m also interested in Francis Manapul’s Beast Legends thing.

  16. Brightest Day, Scarlet, Secret Six, Black Cat, and the 28 Days Later TPB

BQ:  Walking dead is the obvious choice, other than that The Event and My Generation both show some promise.

  17. That breeze I just felt in my jeans wasn’t a fart, it was my wallet breathing a sigh of relief.

Two books this week?! TWO??!! WheelHands sad. This has been one of those months when I wonder when all the books I’m really excited about are coming out again.

BQ: Sons of Anarchy and Walking Dead.

  18. Hellboy: The Storm #3
    I, Zombie #5
    Scarlet #2
    Secret Six #25
    Stumptown #4
    Sweet Tooth #13
    Wolverine #1

BQ: The Walking Dead and the continuation of the first season of HUGE. Alongside Archer. Rubicon and Louie, Huge is one of my favorite "new series/series in general" of the year.

  19. There are dinosaurs in this weeks Hawkeye & Mockingbird.  Just sayin…

  20. Scarlet, Stumptown (FINALLY!), Brightest Day and Incorruptible

BQ: Have to say that I’m most looking forward to Walking Dead and Chuck.

  21. Ooops, just new shows. In that case, just Walking Dead. I don’t need new shows.

  22. Brightest Day, Freedom Fighters and Wolverine.

BQ: Walking Dead, How I Met Your Mother, Big Bang Theory and this great tv show called the NFL Season.

@ScorpionMasada: I really appreciated your comment on my review last week.  I’ll play it forward and leave at least 10 comments this week on reviews.

  23. I hope Wolverine # 1 sells like crazy. Aaron’s Weapon X run was criminally underappreciated. Funny how it will probably sell 3x more copies now that it is branded as "wolverine"

  24. @Jdudley: the fact that DCBS had it for 75% off will also certainly help.

  25. Small week for me at least with only 8 books; Most looking forward to Brightest Day, Shadowland 3, Shadowland Elektra, and Wolverine 1. Aaron did a great job on Weapon X, and looking forward to more good stuff from him.

Under normal circumstances, I’d say I was looking forward to Stumptown, but I have only the faintest recollection of what happened during the last 3 issues. I may just end up dropping the book. Definetly a game time decision.

BQ: I don’t remember being as pumped for a new show since Heroes came out, but I’m anxiously looking forward to AMC’s the Walking Dead, and HBO’s Boardwalk Empire. Steve Buscemi can do NO WRONG.

  26. Not a big week but it will be a beautiful thing to have Stumptown back in my life.  Looking forward to Wolverine, but not a fan of Guedes.  Scarlet, izombie, FRanken-castle and Last Days of American Crime also have me excited…

BQ:  Well here in the Uk I hear rumours we’ll finally get Treme this fall, and Boardwalk Empire should follow it’s US debut quite closely.  Otherwise it’s established shows like Mad Men (season 4 starts here soon apparently) and season 3 of Burn Notice finally getting aired.

  27. BQ: Glee, Walking Dead, Always Sunny in Philly, The new Shatner sitcom, Bored to Death, Community/The Office and my most anticipated new show… Boardwalk Empire!!! It stars two of my fave actors, Buscemi and Michael Pitt, and the first episode is directed, and being produced, by one of my fave directors Scorsese!!!!!!

  28. Cool. I’m going to try and read/comment on more user reviews as well.

  29. Well, Andy Schmidt’s Talkspode a few months ago got me interested in 5 WAYS TO DIE. I ordered the entire thing from DCBS sight unseen. Here’s hoping I enjoy it. Same goes for the war comics that DC is putting out this month. All five of them are coming to me soon.

BQ: Honestly, the only new one I’m excited for is WALKING DEAD.

  30. Superman/Batman: Night and Day.

BQ: I don’t know when it’ll be on in the UK, but damn I’m looking forward to The Walking Dead.

  31. A nice week this week.  Looking forward to more Brightest Day, Mouse Guard, Tom Strong, Astro City, and Scarlet…just to name a few.

BQ:  Zilch.  I barely watch any TV as it is.  I’m definitely going to check out the Walking Dead, but I’ll probably be more of a DVR watcher than a "holy shit it’s Walking Dead night!" kind of guy.

  32. Huge week for me because I have to make up for not going last week. Lot’s of books. Plus I spent a scary amount at FanExpo this weekend past, so my comic budget is sadly looking small.

BQ: I feel like everyone will say The Walking Dead, and sure I’m looking forward to that, but I’m most excited for The Cape, althought that might not be a fall show, so maybe it doesn’t count, so in that case it’s a tie between The Walking Dead and No Ordinary Family.

  33. BQ:

Old shows: Bones, Fringe, Chuck, Archer

     New shows: Undercovers

  34. My favorite show is Dexter, but I cant wait for the Venture Bros and House.

  35. P.S. WALKING FUCKING DEAD!!!

  36. Odd hodgepodge of books for me this week…I’m kinda interested in the DC war one-shot.

BQ: Pretty much a tie between Boardwalk Empire and Walking Dead.

  37. Ma, no one at Ifanboy reads Haunt? I know its not the greatest comic, but thats a little dissapointing.

  38. BQ: Non-ratings season in Australia and long summer days without TV

  39. Amazing Screw On Head HC from Dark Horse. That’ll keep me going.

  40. I might stroll over to the LCS and pick up iZombie or Brightest Day but I really could give a shit less about either of them.

    Another shit week.

    BQ:  Walking Dead

  41. BQ: it’s a tie between The Walking Dead and Boardwalk Empire.

  42. BQ:

Walking Dead, Undercovers, Nikita and Boardwalk Empire.

I would have watched the event, if not for this:

  43. BrightestDay and  SecretSix are the only 2 must have books for me this week.

BQ:The Marvel ani shows on G4, the WalkingDead, Undercovers, Hawia 5-0, shit my DAD says and No Ordinary Family.
