Comments

  1. Iam picking up Superman 708, The Flash #9, and Avengers Earth’s Mightest Heroes Yay 🙂  BQ: It’s tie between The Cap trailer and Eminem’s made in Detroit Commercial Michigan Represent 🙂

  2. Walking Dead, Hack/Slash, Flash, Northlanders, Gen Lost, the return of PunisherMax, and some Ultimate goodness – very cool week of comics.

BQ: While I’m the built-in audience for the movie stuff, I dug the little vader commercial too.

  3. The Flash: The Dastardly Death of the Rogues (beyond excited!)
    Nemesis
    Shadowland

BQ: No SuperBowl here in Scotland (though we did have our own epic “soccer” event), but I loved the Captain America teaser.

  4. This looks to be an exciting week for comics.  Looking forward to what Tomasi & Gleason do on Batman & Robin, PunisherMAX finally comes out again, new Flash and T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents is always good news, and Power Man & Iron Fist comes out, after a pretty good Shadowland mini, so I’ll be checking that out.

BQ: I’ll just go with the Captain America TV spot, since that’s the only thing I’ve seen.

  5. Most excited for new Hack/Slash and Osborn.

BQ: Watching the Steelers play in the big game for a third time in 6 years was too much for me, I saw Tron instead…

  6. Looking forward to Flash, B & R, and Rebels

BQ: Transformers, Optimus Prime + Jetpack = win

  7. Flash, Generation Lost and Amazing Spiderman (damn thats fast)

BQ: Darth Vadar VW, NFL “American Family” (TV people in NFL gear), KIA wild ride…a few others.

  8. There’re a few things getting me interested this week.  Mostly it’s the new team on Batman and Robin, as I’m intrigued to see the tone they’re going for.  An Ultimate bonanza too and new New Avengers (I think there’s some Chaykin in this issue, yay!)

I am however a little weary, already, of the .1 initiative.  I’m not sure it’s going to do anything to entice new readers that a good TPB can’t do and, having looked in the new Previews, it’s really pushing up the number of monthlies I feel I have to buy (damn me for my completism!). I mean there’s essentially 3 issues of Uncanny X-Men alone in April!

  9. I know nothing about this title aside from its main characters, but I am looking forward to see how SHERLOCK HOLMES: YEAR ONE is.

Also, that RED ROBIN/ TEEN TITANS crossover that begins this week could be interesting.

  10. Amazing Spider-Man #654, Cinderella: Fables Are Forever #1, Infestation: Star Trek #1, Walking Dead #81

BQ: Couldn’t care less about the Super Bowl or commercials.

  11. Batman And Robin #20 (That is one ugly cover.)
Bprd Hell On Earth Gods #2 (OF 3)
Cinderella Fables Are Forever #1 (OF 6)
Dc Universe Legacies #9 (OF 10)
    Flash #9
    Green Lantern Emerald Warriors #7
Red Robin #20 (Possibly.  I’m not fond of crossovers into books I don’t read.)
Transformers Ongoing #16 (I’m not sure why.)
    Unwritten #22
    Walking Dead #81

BQ: The obsolete technology car commerical was my favorite.  The fact that the car is powered by an internal combustion engine was my favorite part.

  12. Flash, Punisher Max and WidowMaker 4 of 4

BQ: LITTLE VADER (tho I’ve been showing peope this for a week before and it’s longer on the internet. Why did they cut it?!?!?!)

  13. Picking up Adventure Comics ( Phil Jimenez art! ), GLEW, JBNM, New Avengers, Ultimate Spider-Man, Thunderstrike, Widowmaker, and possibly Thunder Agents ( solely because of George Perez ).

BQ : my absolute favorite is the Volkswagon Little Vader commercial. I’m a super SW nrrd, and i geeked big time for that one. the Imperial March theme is WIZARD! ( i’m bringing it back )

Also liked the Chevy Cruze : First Kiss because i’m a hopeless romantic, mush pop.

the Snickers commercial with Rosie Barr was funny.

the Bridgestone : Reply all made me lol

Cap was meh, Thor was COOL. Transformers…Michael Bay, just stop. Just stop.

“American Family ” was a trip down my tv watching memory lane ( LOved the abundance of Jets apparel! Did they show Kevin Arnold with his Jets jacket? classic. ).

  14. Thunderstrike is out this week as well as The Flash (both seem like forever since they came out)

  15. Most excited for SHIELD I would say.

BQ: Little Vader was the best, but I liked the Eminiem one and the Bridgestone reply all one.

I thought most of the trailers were pretty good; I was most excited to see the Cap one but I thought that Transformers commercial, as a commercial, was pretty brilliant; I’m not that excited for the movie itself, but the commercial was really well done.

  16. Almost all my books lined up this week. I hate when that happens. It’s great at the time, but it means some pretty lean weeks are on the horizon.

BQ: Didn’t catch em all, and I’m too lazy to sit through the link, but I liked Little Vader and a few of those Bridgestone commercials. Particularly the one with the beaver. Good stuff.

  17. Emerald Warriors, and Walking dead are my big books of the week.  So Pumped for both!

BQ: Yeah little Vader was my favorite. However, i dvrd the Cap trailer and watched it 3 or 4 times, once in slow mo.

  18. Most excited about Love & Capes: Ever After #1.

BQ:Pug attacks for Doritos!  Where’s Mike Norton when you need him?

  19. Lots of books I’m excited for this week. Too many, actually. I won’t be able to afford all the books I’d like to check out. Particularly excited for The Unwritten, Walking Dead, and Cinderella: Fables are Forever.

BQ: Gotta go with little Vader.

  20. Big week for me:

    Batman And Robin #20
    Birds Of Prey #9
Dc Universe Legacies #9 (OF 10)
    Flash #9
    Green Lantern Emerald Warriors #7
    Incognito Bad Influences #3
    Justice League Generation Lost #19
    Knight & Squire #5 (OF 6)
Punisher Max #10 (FINALLY! SHEESH I THOUGHT THIS GOT CANCELLED!)
    T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents #4
    Warlord Of Mars #4

BQ: Cap preview, Little Vader, Bridgestone Beaver, Doritos Pug

  21. A big week this week, but filled with all goodness.  New Flash, Atomic Robo, and Batgirl gets my engines going.  Can’t wait for Wednesday (even though it will be a long and horrible day of work).

BQ: The only memorable ones were Little Vader and the Eminem Chrysler one.  I thought Little Vader was super cute and funny while the Eminem was surprisingly powerful and cool.

  22. I got ASM, The Flash, New Avengers, and Northlanders. I may also pick up the first issue of the hack/slash ongoing but I may stick with what I have been doing and just waitng for the omnibus.

BQ: I dug pretty much all the movie commercials but I also loved little vadar and the doritos commercial where the guy ressurected his freinds grandfather.

  23. BQ ; the bridgestone ad, only because I met the main guy he lives with my Buddies Ex-roommate, great dude and kicks ass in commercials

  24. What was it about the Eminem Chrysler commercial? Apparently it resonated with a lot of people, but I found it sort of unremarkable. Maybe I was distracted?

@Patman2  Yeah, the grandfather one was also hilarious!

  25. Big week for me as well – theres usually at least one a month. Weird Wolverine number again, preview looked good though.

    What’s a Super bowl?

    Amazing Spider-Man #654
    Batgirl #18
    Batman And Robin #20
Dc Universe Legacies #9 (OF 10)
Doctor Who Classics Series 4 Seventh Doctor #1
    Flash #9
    Green Lantern Emerald Warriors #7
    Red Robin #20
    Superman #708
    Wolverine #1000
    Wolverine #5.1

  26. Flash #9
    BM&R #20
    ASM #654
    GL: Emerald Warriors #7

Really looking forward to Flash, though. It’s been forever since the last issue.

  27. Giving Batman and Robin another try, a whole lot of Ultimate action this week and the return of PunisherMAX.

The Captain America trailer was incredible but comes in second to the Crysler “Imported from Detroit” commercial.  But maybe that’s just becasue I’m from Michigan.

  28. I’m excited about ASM, Ultimate Comics Captain America, Flash and Wolverine .1.

     – I was really impressed with Jason Aaron and UC Captain America
     – Johns did it again last issue with a solid issue about Prof. Zoom. The guy nails it each month…clutch
     – Haven’t read Wolverine since Enemy of the State and figure there’s no better time to try it out
     – ASM…love where this is going, but is it Iron Man who’s really waiting for him???

  29. Thanks for the link
BQ the Cola Border one was awesome.

    Batman And Robin #20
Dc Universe Legacies #9 (OF 10)
    Flash #9
    Generation Lost #19
    and Red Robin #20
are my top picks this week

  30. back to six books this week.
BQ: I loved the Audi release the hounds comercial was awesome! I hated all the Groupon commercials. I felt they were in bad taste.

  31. Pretty light week.

    Batman and Robin
    Punisher MAX (FINALLY!!)
    Ultimate Captain America

BQ: Pretty subpar year for commercials for the game. But Carmax probably had the best and funniest commercials for me. The one with the bad metaphors (Kid in a Candy Store) and the one with the 1950s gas attendents were great. I especially loved the latter because it’s so true about how different our experiences at the gas station are now then what they were 60 years ago.

Those GoDaddy ads really bug me though. Especially since it has Danica Patrick, who always seemed uber-feminist to me, do these very over the top (cheesecake you say?) ads.

  32. BQ: Cowboys and Aliens! Though, I’m still excited for Cap. America and Thor.

  33. 27
    Batman and Robin
    Flash HC!!
Invaders Now! (that exclamation is supposed to be there)
    Ultimate Cap
    The Unwritten
-I’ll also be reading Punisher MAX in the store and maybe continue to pick up Black Panter: MWoF, and I’m debating whether to continue to pull Northlanders, that last arc was amazing!

BQ: I’d go with Little Vader, that or the Dorritto (sp?) one where the guy licks the other guy’s finger in the break room.

  34. Kid in Vader costume takes the cake! That was hilarious!

  35. The 2nd printing of WHO IS JAKE ELLIS #1 is out this week. If you missed it first time around I really really recommend you pick it up.

  36. Superman #708 for me this week.  I’ll poke around and see if anything grabs my interest, but I just purchased a TON of trades from Amazon.

  37. Considering I’m coming back to comics after a long long LONG hiatus (15 years maybe?), I’m going to focus on new stuff, vs stuff that’s been ongoing for years.

    Definite:

    Who is Jake Ellis
Casanova (hopefully lcs still has #1 too)

    Possible:

    Unwritten
Lil Depressed Boy (webcomic doesn’t quite do it for me, though)
Adventure Comics (I tend not to want superhero stuff)

Other recents to search for: Daomu, New York Five

  38. Just Adventure Comics for me this week. I’ve been getting into the Legion of Superheroes (the team, not the title) over the last few months and am really excited about the Phil Jimenez previews I’ve seen for this issue! I just wish they hadn’t cut that lighthouse scene off the top of the cover because I really liked the great sense of place in that illustration. Oh well.

BQ: I don’t care about sports and I always mute the commercials when I do watch TV so you’re asking the wrong guy.
