Iron Man: Extremis Motion Comic Announced

Today Marvel Comics announced the motion comic adaptation of Warren Ellis and Adi Granov's Iron Man: Extremis story.  Extremis has been heralded as one of the better modern Iron Man stories, and with the movie sequel, Iron Man 2, looming on the horizon, it seems like a good time as ever to roll out a motion comic version of Extremis

Each episode will be priced at $1.99, or $9.99 to get all 6 episodes.  The premiere episode will be over 20 minutes long, giving you some extra bang for your buck.  The motion comic will be available in Apple iTunes, the Microsoft Zune Marketplace and on the X-Box.  The first episode comes out on April 16th, with bi-weekly releases through June.

Comments

  1. At this point why not make an animated version of the comic.. Because this isn’t doing it much justice.

  2. If its as good as Astonishing Xmen and is on Hulu I’ll watch it.

  3. @misacke – animated version is tons more expensive. I’d imagine they would be working on a software that would make it a smoother transition from comics to animation.

  4. So….I guess these are selling? Enough to justify more? Color me surprised.

  5. I dunno. After seeing how much work goes into this, it really is just half assed animation.

  6. Sorry, don’t mean to denigrate the loads of hard work that goes into these. I’m sure there are plenty of people out there who really dig this stuff.

  7. Dramamine, please! The strange movements make me feel a little queezy.

Also, Tony’s mouth looks a tad to strange for me when he’s speaking.

  8. Hate Spiderwoman…Loved the X-Men.  So to me, this is worth the coin.

  9. yea, people should realize they will likely be able to watch it for free on hulu, like spiderwoman and astonishing x-men

  10. It has felt like both Spiderwoman and X-men have takes SO LONG to come out.  I havent been buying Spiderwoman issues because I subscribed to the motion comic but its two issues behind now.  Im not sure if I can get behind this.

  11. I didn’t care for the other motion comics but this looks good.

  12. I know it’s probably an unpopular opinion. but I am bored – really bored with Fraction’s Iron Man.

At first I was hooked on his take – but something like Extremis which I didn’t actually warm to as much at the time reminds me orf the fact that Iron Man is an action chracter.  As much as I want birilliant inventor – futrist Tony in there. Fraction’s Iron Man has been doing nothing but running and hiding and emoting.

Too much soap opera not enough Iron Man/Tech adventures.

Man Up Fraction.  You can do it.

  13. AGAIN EVERYONE!!!

PLEASE NOTE THAT PRIOR MOTION COMICS ARE FREE FREE FREE ON HULU!!
