Human Target – S02E13 – Marshall Pucci

It's season finale time for Human Target! Will it return for another season? Flip a coin, true believers!

As always, we look forward to your thoughts, opinions, gripes, live-blogging, etc.

Comments

  1. More than likely series finale.

  2. He did seem confident about starting fresh with seasn 3. I hope it stays around. This is a really enjoyable show.

  3. I’m actually live on this one!

  4. Ilsa has gotten the short end of the character development shrift this season, I think.

  5. I think we’re going to find out that Marshall wasn’t having an affair. That’s my prediction.

  6. I bet there’s champagne in those flutes… mmm… champagne.

  7. Oh, women. Always with the wanting us to ask you to stay…

  8. Ilsa was all ready to have a Bodyguard moment with Chase and then he dropped business on her. There will be no Whitney Houston ballad for them… yet.

  9. I feel like this “there was a bigger force behind Marshall’s death” subplot was kinda hastially tacked on — there was no hint of it from the original episode.

  10. @Heroville  I dunno, I always expected that would come back at some point. I mean, that’s the kind of show this is — there’s always something going on in the background.

  11. Am I crazy or is Chance’s hair getting longer? Why am I even thinking about this…?

  12. But street musicians DO only know two chords and most park chess players in San Francisco ARE stoned!

  13. That voice on the phone sounds familiar.

  14. I knew it! It’s THAT guy!

  15. It’s like their operation but better….and evil

  16. Did she think that she’d have signal underground?

  17. Twist!

  18. TWIST!

  19. @Heroville  Hey, great minds!

  20. Awesome open!

  21. His hair is definitely getting longer.

  22. And that wasn’t the worst experience I’ve ever heard of people having on the BART.

  23. Hmmm… CIA?

  24. I dunno… rouge agent with that much manpower and money seems a little far fetched…

  25. Amber Heard needs to become the top lady action star

  26. Where in the hell is Carmine?

  27. I like the relationship between Guererro and the thief whose name I can’t remember right this very moment. It’s very father/daughter, mentor/mentee, which you don’t get a lot in a male/female relationship.

  28. I’m just glad they let Ames keep her clothes on.

  29. Whoa! Guererro has a kid!

HE’S GOING TO GO ALL RORSCHACH ON THE CIA!

  30. My, my — Ilsa!

  31. This is very much like the BOURNE movies.

  32. Wow. I looked at the clock and was genuinely shocked that we are only 37 minutes in. I could have swore it was almost over.

  33. Oh, Ilsa… bad idea.

  34. As Batman has taught us it’s perfectly normal behavior for a mulit-millionaire to take the law into their own hands.

  35. Yes, yes this is how you want to talk to an emotionally unstable woman with gun aimed at your head

  36. I like the lighting in this scene.

  37. It’s not a microchip!

  38. This won’t work!

  39. It would be an interesting twist if we learned in this episode that Chance can fly.

  40. Guererro!

  41. How did… how did they end up like that…????

  42. Horay for metaphors!

  43. Today’s Lesson: Do NOT fuck with Guererro or his kid.

  44. Guererro is operating at coolness level or 30 kilaFonzies

  45. It’s like that Palm Pre commericial!

  46. Oh, Winston. You old softy.

  47. Mr.s Pucci has a Canadian pilot, it would seem. Why… it’s almost like they shoot in Canada!

  48. Nice ending.  I hope there’s another season.

  49. It was a good ending. I didn’t enjoy this season as much as the last, but I can’t put my finger on why. It’s not the new cast members, I like them fine. I just think the show lost focus a bit.

  50. If I was betting money (not a large sum, mind you) I would think that we get a third season. The numbers were not great but they were solid-ish.

  51. Guererro is always amazing, can’t get enough of that character.

I like Ilsa and Ames I think they add a good mix to the 3 guys who have worked together since time immemorial. I think my only nit pick with this season is that to many coincidences and stuff related to them happening. I would have liked more “cases” of people coming to them for help, that aren’t friends, themselves or targeting a place they happen to be at randomly.

    They used to help strangers.

  52. Season 2 Episode 12 got higher ratings then any other episode, plus they’d move the show to Friday before cancelling it, therefore I believe a season 3 will happen. It has higher ratings then Smallville ever has had.

I think it will last another season at least, if Fox cancels Lie To Me which gets slightly less rating then we should be afraid for season 4. Either way Fox so far has renewed 3 shows, cancelled 2 and is holding out on 8, Raising Hope and Bones are doing fine, American Dad is doing significantly better then this show (and is cheaper to make by alot), so that leaves Human Target, The Good Guys, Fringe and Lie to Me. The Good Guys is probably going to be cancelled which leaves, HT, Fringe and Lie to Me which all perform around the same 5 to 7 million. Lie to Me being the lowest performing and Fringe the best with our horse in the middle. Of those 3 Human Target is probably the cheapest to make and Fringe the most expensive (A guess), Fringe is in the Friday Night Death Slot and is beating the other shows so I believe it will stay a bit longer (unless its to expensive to make). So that leaves HT the breathing space of Lie To Me. If Lie to Me gets cancelled and replaced with something better or Human Target get moved to Friday then Human Target is done for.

So I think we might be safe for Season 3, don’t bet on anything past that since, I believe this show will be a season to season thing, knowing Fox’s history.

  53. @Crucio  The Good Guys was canceled in December.

  54. I still love this show but I agree with Conor that this season was not as good.  However, I think it was how Ilsa and Ames were written into a few of the episodes.  Without seeing the writing credits, in some episodes the women were used as “comedy relief” but the result was not funny at all.  They were silly or stupid or a liability or all of the above.  The 3 men also got dumbed down in these episodes and there was no chemistry.

However, about half the episodes of season 2 were really solid (especially this one).  In those episodes, the women played their characters intelligently & strong and the men didn’t act like 12 year olds around them.  The best example I can think of are the back-to-back episodes where Chance’s South American love interest comes asking for help (horrible episode) followed by the one where Chance & Ilsa are on the run in the jungle from the mercenary/assassin (very good episode).

I really hope the show gets another season.  Overall, it’s fun and entertaining.

  55. If it doesn’t get another season, the series ended with a very strong episode.  Great stuff.

  56. @Conor: Yeah the writing was on the wall for that show after its second episode. I don’t think we can hope for 6 seasons with Fox. If this was the CW it would be good for 8 or more. I do believe we can expect a 3rd though.
