My favorite part of this cover isn’t Superman wearing a cowboy hat. And it isn’t even the startling revelation that in The Golden Age one of Superman’s powers was awesome lasso play. No, my favorite part of this cover is Superman’s jaunty little hip stance.

If you look at the cowboy on the right side of the page, it kinda looks like his eyes are staring at Superman’s butt, which would be even better if Superman was wearing leather chaps…

You have to admit Superman’s lasso trick is impressive. I’ve never seen anything like that before.
The man of steel: cold, hard, wild western steel. This is a brilliant concept, someone go tell Grant Morrison to write a convoluted and pseudo-incomprehensible Superman Jonah Hex time travel cross over, stat!
