Coming Soon: THE WALKING DEAD Action Figures

McFarlane Toys (yes, that McFarlane) announced they’re coming out with not one, but two sets of action figures based on the epicly popular The Walking Dead. The first series is set to be released this September and is based on Robert Kirman's The Walking Dead comic book series, while the second is based on AMC’s TV adaptation and will hit stores in November.

I'm pretty sure that Robert Kirkman is steps away from complete work domination at this point.  The Walking Dead continues to be a huge success, and it doesn't show any signs of slowing down. Which is amazing.

But back to the toys.  Each series of toys comes with two humans and two zombies. In the comic-based line we get Rick, Michonne, and a Zombie Lurker and Roamer. If the television series is more your speed, you can pick up Rick Grimes, Daryl Dixon and a Zombie Walker and Biter in time for Christmas.

The human figures come with the standard features like interchangeable accessories and fancy points-of-articulation. But the zombie figures come with some pretty awesome play action, like exploding heads and removable limbs. Exploding heads and removable limbs! All for the low, low price of $14.99.

Todd McFarlane will be debuting The Walking Dead Action Figure line at New York Toy Fair this weekend. I’ll be at the show, so check the site Tuesday for more pictures and information on these and other comic-related goodies!

Comments

  1. cool.

  2. Put me down for a comicbook version of Rick!

  3. I was gonna show some G.I. Joes in a wood chipper and make my own, but now I guess I’ll just buy these.

  4. Cannot wait for these! They will look great next to my Shaun of the dead and blackest night figures!

  5. Silly.

  6. No Andrea, boo!

  7. Now I can have a battle at my desk between Daryl Dixon with crossbow and
Michonne with samurai sword. My own continuity!

  8. That is a creepy little zombie toy.

  9. What will it take to get a Yorick and Ampersand action figure?

  10. @s1lentslayer  A TV show/movie, probably.

  11. I’m going to have ComicBook Rick fight TV Rick.  My money’s on ComicBook Rick.

  12. Not much for toys and figures these days, but Michonne would tempt me.

  13. I might be able to talk my wife into picking up a comic book Rick and Michonne. But will this be toy of Rick be pre-issue #28 or post-issue #28? Or maybe you get to pick, like how the toy of Jesse Custer came with an eye patch.

  14. I added the extra “be” to my second sentence to make my point as incomprehensible as possible. I want you to have to work to understand what I’m saying!

  15. I am NOT an action figure kind of guy. BUT, I want me a Michonne & Rick (pre- and post-hand chop) doll–I mean, action figure! I love TWD!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  16. I had given up buying regular action figures in favor of the Eaglemoss Classic Marvel Figuring Collection and try to stay away from other figures…but I did make the exceptiong for the Marvel Zombies figures…then again for the 19″ Galactus from Toys ‘r Us…I guess one more time won’t hurt.
I wonder if the comic book figures will be in black and white, lol
