Chloe Sullivan Moving From ‘Smallville’ to Comics

I KNEW IT! I made two predictions when Smallville first started airing:

1) Chloe would be introduced into the comics continuity; and 2) Her death would be what would motivate Clark to pursue journalism.

Now we’ve heard that they were going to put Chloe into the comics continuity for a while, but now we know when and where: Superman issue #674

They’re keeping her relationship to Lois as her cousin, but she’ll be a younger journalism student in the comics. This is really curious because while, Smallville is still going on TV, it can’t be on forever. In fact, Conor and I have been wishing for it to come to an end soon. If they wanted to tie in the show to the comics in a bit of cross promotion, then why not do this years ago? Unless the show is prepping to come to a wrap and they’re going to combine Chloe’s tragic death on both the comic page and the small screen? You never know, but if that’s how it goes down, you heard it here first.

Either way, I still stand by my assertion that Chloe is toast.

Comments

  1. so…..did she die in the show this season?????

  2. Not as of yet, no.

  3. This is really curious because while, Smallville is still going on TV, it can’t be on forever. In fact, Conor and I have been wishing for it to come to an end soon.

Smallville has been long in the tooth since season five. And in hindsight, it could have been a much better series in someone else’s hands. As it stands, it’s a mediocre show that at least has a solid formula to fall back on.

Either way, I still stand by my assertion that Chloe is toast.

Agreed. Such a shame for the best character on the series, in part because Allison Mack is the best actor.

  4. This is a really interesting move. The show has been up and down over the years, but the new season is really fantastic and seems to be heading for the finish line.

  5. This show is such a guilty pleasure for me because the writing, on average, is awful but, for some reason, I can’t miss an episode.

The only character the writers really have a grip on is Lex. He is, by far, the most interesting character on the show and, especially in later seasons, I feel that they stopped Clarks progression to Superman so that they could do more with Lex’s digression to evil and they’d hit those points at the same time in the show.

Really, Clark has been in the same place since the end of season 4 and it’s getting tired. They need to have him get rid of Lana, hook up with Lois, put a cape on him, and end it.

  6. Can’t we just have a Smallville comic? It’s the only way I’m going to a buy a Superman title anyway…

  7. Wasn’t there already a Smallville comic?

  8. A comic book, based on a television show, based on a comic book?

    That sounds about right.

  9. Unlike TV, however, she’ll be younger than Clark, she won’t know his secret and she will not be meteor-infected.

    So…it’s NOT Chloe then.

  10. She’s comic book Chloe Sullivan.
