I haven’t been a big fan of Bendis’ Avengers writing and the wordiness that comes with it, but I could…

February 8, 2013 1:11 pm Honorable mention --> Young Iceman's remarks about Unus the Untouchable. I will say no more.
January 18, 2013 4:05 pm If there's one thing I always go by in my life, it's that if you work hard and love what you do, you can succeed at anything. Ron and Paul are examples of that right now. Big congrats to you both!
January 14, 2013 1:30 pm Where's the trailer? You mention it, but don't see it embedded
January 9, 2013 3:49 pm The achievement for me with this book is that we already know the story but yet Wood made it feel fresh. Probably that way for me given the Legacy and Old Republic comics I used to read a few years back and eventually got tired of them. This was great stuff all-around. Also.....WHAT?!?
January 7, 2013 1:53 pm The answer to this "controversy" is really simple - if you like it, keep reading. If you don't, don't buy it. That's how you tell publishers what you want. Why can't these nutjobs who think a creator destroyed their livelihood get that? Definitely does not justify threatening that creator's livelihood for sure.
January 4, 2013 1:28 pm I've been DC"s biggest supporter for the last few years, but even I can fully admit now that the hype behind the New 52 is officially faded and it's exposing the current line of books as what it is - the same as before. My DC pull list is down to just Batman, Wonder Woman, Animal Man, and Swamp Thing and it's no surprise that it's this way because Snyder, Lemire, and Azzarello are in my top 10 favorite writers today. Beyond that, it's just been the old creators of the 1990's that have come back and that's not something you want when you're plugging a huge reboot. Maybe that will change next year (I'm personally excited for Jim Zub on Birds of Prey and Lemire on Green Arrow) , but it's clear that the pendulum swung in Marvel's favor of the big two last year. To add to DC's mess, we also forgot to mention our skepticism towards Vertigo's future. Multiple titles ended (Scalped, DMZ, Northlanders, etc) with no signs of future ongoing replacements, their biggest ongoing book in Hellblazer ending, and Berger is leaving. Yes, we can't tell what this means for 2013 when Berger's replacements come in March, but you can't help but be scared for the imprint that revolutionized a lot of how comics should be beyond superheroes.
January 4, 2013 12:16 pm Couldn't agree more about Image. Every new series they put out last year was different, bold, and entertaining. And they still had sure bets in Walking Dead, Invincible, and Chew. AND let's not forget they have the Top Cow imprint, which had its own Rebirth recently with mainstay books like Darkness and Witchblade. Runner-ups for me is a tie between Dark Horse and IDW. Dark Horse because they have Mike Mignola and Brian Wood. IDW because they made My Little Pony a best-seller.(if that doesn't qualify, I don't know what does)...
January 1, 2013 8:05 pm Mara looks very intriguing and I could never turn down a Brian Wood story. And I tip my hat to American Vampire with this being the last issue before going on hiatus. BQ: I honestly would rather give New Year's goals than resolutions. Resolutions to me are not measurable - anybody can say they want to lose weight or get a better job. What matters is how you'll do them and in what time span. For me, that's: Lose 30 pounds in 6 months Save for half a down payment towards a house Finish iOS courses in next couple of months to start taking on iPhone/iPad development freelance work Reduce comic load to 5-6 books per week and switch to digital (my closets will be thankful for it)
December 11, 2012 12:47 pm Man of Steel, here is a check with my signature on it. Write down any number and I will pay it...
November 20, 2012 1:54 pm Remender is writing this. It will be awesome. That is all.
