November 7, 2012 8:59 pm Ok so I love Iron Man, I sometimes enjoy Kieron Gillen, and I dislike Greg Land. This was a last minute digital purchase for me. The good is that it's very accessible, the writing is pretty good, characters seem to be on the mark for the most part, and story was alright. The art is well.....not the worst greg land I've seen, that said however is like saying well that's not the worst time I was kicked in the nuts. Overall 3/5. Not bad but won't be back for issue 2.
November 1, 2012 7:50 pm Yes any insight would be nice. Even Google went "WTF are caliyoodas?"
October 24, 2012 7:37 pm @indigomx9 No I was referring to Greg Pak and Jason Aaron's hulk which in both he seemed completely in control and having full conversations with people for pages and pages. My first introduction to the Hulk (along with most marvel characters) was with The Ultimates and I LOVED that Hulk but every time I see the Hulk in the 616 it's complicated and boring. How hard is it to write "HULK SMASH" and just have him ripping things in half for the rest of the issue.....i'm not asking for much here people. Leave the conversations to all the people terrified of the Hulk
October 23, 2012 6:51 pm *fingers crossed* Please be dumb hulk. Please be dumb hulk. I don't know if I can take another completely level headed intelligent version of the hulk.
October 15, 2012 6:27 pm My favorite "indie" comics right now are 1. Invincible 2. The Walking Dead (better to read in trades) 3. American Vampire 4. SAGA If you only pick up one make it SAGA
October 14, 2012 12:00 pm @KenOchalek No, I buy digitally and didn't see any preview book offered on comiXology. I may have overlooked it though in my excitement to read Batman this week. I'll go back and try to find it.
October 13, 2012 10:21 am @KenOchalek Agreed it might be hasty to call it all off this early. However my problem is like @tripleneck stated that the launching book of Marvel NOW should set the tone of what they want to accomplish with it's initiative. The tone they set to me is that they are just going to keep cranking out essentially glorified point one issues that continue the same thing they've been doing for years. I am now extremely hesitant to throw a bunch of money (especially since most are $4) on number one issues that will most likely be completely marred with the same continuity confusion problems.
October 12, 2012 10:02 pm Surely I'm not the only one who thinks this "MARVEL NOW" is more like "MARVEL....STILL A CONTINUATION OF THE SAME THING BUT NOW WITH NUMBER 1 ISSUES." Seriously I thought this was supposed to be a reboot like the New 52. Something to get excited about for new and lapsed readers. This is the kick off point for Marvel Now and it felt like a fallout issue of AvX (which I dropped 4 issues in). This isn't necessarily a complaint about this issue as much as the complete MARVEL NOW disappointment. I am now highly reconsidering picking up all these new number ones since they are just going to be a glorified renumbering scam. I am sorely disappointed with marvel here, they had a real chance to hook me like DC did but now my marvel stack is just going to keep dropping with all this garbage continuity they feel like they can't toss overboard like DC did (for the most part). What a shame.
October 10, 2012 11:13 pm Ok so i had some problems with this and the whole deployment of Marvel Now. First off Ive typically been a fan of remender but this seemed like it was directly tied into AvX which i only read a few issues of and then dropped. I thought this whole marvel now was going to be a fresh start to the marvel U but this was almost like a fallout issue. What the hell marvel? I was really excited for getting back into some rebooted marvel books but since marvel now is just a glorified renumbering i think i will pass on almost all of these. What a shame.
October 8, 2012 8:54 pm That's exactly what i was wondering. If it's just an over glorified renumbering then I will probably not grab any of the new titles. My marvel stack keeps getting thinner and thinner (AvX tie-ins made me drop a ton)
