May 24, 2013 11:35 pm Isotope is the gold standard. If any of you are looking to open a shop and want to see one run right, get yourself to Fell St. In SF. I live an hour and a half away and make a point to stop in every time I'm in the city. I walked with my kids a mile or so from our hotel one morning only to find the store wouldn't be open for another half hour. James saw my predicament and let us in early to shop. I've taken several SF friends who couldn't see themselves in a comic book store with me, and all were pleasantly surprised and sounded like they wanted to come back and spend time there. My LCS, Red Sky Comics in Merced, is really great too (I have a feeling that the owner, Mike, took a tip or two from James & Isotope) but I never pass up an opportunity to visit Isotope when I'm in the city.
May 20, 2013 10:36 pm Consider me the dissenter on Seaguy. I read the first trade and decided it wasn't for me. A whole lot of crazy and not much else, in my opinion.
May 9, 2013 4:49 pm I'm really not trying to be a jerk either. I'm glad The Private Eye is there, I just wish Insufferable and the like could get in on the party too.
May 9, 2013 4:28 pm So Waid isn't one of the biggest and best? I love BKV, but it does seem like a bit of preferential treatment.
May 9, 2013 3:17 am More than Saga? Really? I mean, it's good, but I've yet to have that "Rocketship Forest" moment.
May 7, 2013 12:20 am Just Thor for me this week. BQ: went kite flying with my daughter.
April 22, 2013 2:39 pm Morning Glories + Mind MGMT. BQ: pineapple.
April 20, 2013 10:45 am That last Captain Marvel panel should be exhibit 1a in the case for Jordie Bellaire's 2014 Eisner campaign.
April 15, 2013 1:07 pm *this casting almost makes me want to see it.
April 15, 2013 1:03 pm Funny that this article showed up today. Just last night I was telling my wife that, while stories like Locke & Key and Morning Glories seem like they'd be monster hits on screen, Saga (which we both love dearly) seems like it wouldn't make the transition as well. I think Saga is and should remain a comic book. That being said, outside of Alba (who seems like a visual casting decision only) almost makes me want to see it.
