Great article Sonia as ever. I would like to see a study on the various incarnations of the DC Bullet Logo...

Superman's logo has become the typography of any and every superhero logo...any time there is a spoof or homage to a hero...it is often times written in that "Superman style 3-D"....the brand has become synonymous with the product! Like "Kleenex" is used regardless of the brand of tissue...or "Coke" is often used to indicate any soda/pop/cola or Jello-O for any gelatin desert....ok, now I'm hungry......

A reply from an earlier question: my favorite season will always be Season One.  Don't get me wrong, I love Lost and it;s my favorite show, etc. etc. But to me in a way it kind of jumped the shark when it went all Time Travel and showed Smokie....

Up to those points it was mind blowing. A polar bear on a tropical island? How is that possible?...oh...an animal experiment station. Aha.....The Others looking all ratty and ragged?...oh, it was just stage makeup.....

Up to a certain point, everything uncanny eventually had a logical conclusion or explination....when it went more and more sci fi it hurt me a little. Just something about the suspension of disbelief. I buy it and love the show where it's at, but something was "Lost" when it went where it is going now....make any sense?

March 5, 2009 12:57 am ...and perhaps one reason why Faraday was seen during the discovery of the wheel in the Orchid station a few episodes back is that he is there to try and displace them back to their own/correct time? I can think of no other way for them to get back to the present since they are all now displaced back to 1977 Dharma time before the purge.

Wonder what is happening/happened to Rose & Bernard, etc. Do you think they went back in time as well to the 1974 Dharma part like Sawyer and Co?

I don't think the baby is Ben. I thought the episode which told his back story showed him going to the island as a kid. He is not "native" born on the island and that is one reason he got the cancer in his back waaaay back when....

February 24, 2009 11:01 pm This is THE Best book that people are not reading...shame! Fantastic art and stories. This and House of Mystery are knocking it out of the park each and every month....
February 19, 2009 1:54 am Oh, and that was a spanish version of Y. Does it really exist as a trade in spanish, or was that a mock up for this episode?
February 19, 2009 1:51 am I agree Connor. It bums me that this scenario is going to happen. I want LOST to get big viewer numbers, whether it matters in the end or not, I want shows that I like to have good numbers and do well in the ratings
February 18, 2009 1:41 am I dunno Connor, taking Supes out of those books, albeit only on a temp. basis just doesn't seem right. Action and Supes seemed to be on a high: great art/great story/writers, etc. Why this turn and why now? Marketing ploy? I am a diehard Superman fan and yet this move frustrates me, will confuse some, and I ask again why? What's wrong with the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" theory?
February 16, 2009 11:40 pm That is beautiful! Sadly, as with most of these kinds of things, they get quickly bid out of my price range. What I would love to see would be an artist superstar do some tiny/quick sketches at a cheap price like $10.00 for us "common folk" to bid on or buy. If Cooke did 100 of these quickies at ten bucks a pop, that's a nice $1000. Maybe more money would be raised? But...even if i can't financially win this auction, I will pray for this friend and his medical needs!

I saw the trailer on the Super Bowl. At first I didn't realize it was going to be GI Joe..but just another Bruckheimer (spell?) film.....i don't know if that is good or bad. It didn't look like Joe, but I understand it has to be modernized so to speak.

I don't know if I agree or disagree with comments as to whether adaptations spoil your childhood memories. For example, at the time when the Challenge of the Superfriends and the Superfriends Roast came on I was amazed and ga ga..there was Green Lantern and Hawkman on the screen! Seeing it now, sheesh that was bad. And now I only can dwell on how bad it is. If I had not seen it later, i would like to think that it would have held a greater place in my childhood.
