August 21, 2016 10:53 pm I was also surprised to hear that, because I feel MORE connected to Superman than I have in a long time. I feel like the real Superman is back, and I don't really care what the state of the universe around him is (but, thankfully, it's also good).
May 29, 2016 7:57 pm For a minute there, I really thought Wally was going to die, and I had the thought "At least now we get a goodbye." But then he lived! And just when I was starting to like New Wally ... I guess I'm excited to go from zero Wally to two Wallies.
April 3, 2016 4:21 pm I don't think "Batman v Superman" has permanently ruined Superman for me, but I tried to calm my jangled nerves by reading "Birthright" and couldn't get through it. I couldn't even look at Jimmy Olsen without thinking of Zack Snyder's "fun" announcement. The "Rebirth" line-up might not be revolutionary, but it did my mental health a world of good to see Dan DiDio admit to his mistakes. I only hope he passes what he's learned onto David Goyer.
March 26, 2016 4:50 pm So ... it's not too late to stop it?
March 26, 2016 4:10 pm I love that Snyder thinks that dismissively killing off Jimmy Olsen off is "fun". And by "love" I mean "I'm going freak the fuck out if this guy ever touches these characters again".
March 26, 2016 3:48 pm I've been eagerly anticipating your review because, despite all the negative criticism, I didn't feel I'd heard anyone properly articulate what made this film so bad (the "steaming pile of garbage" style of review is not helpful). I came out of that movie knowing I didn't like it, so I appreciate your ability to help me clarify what it is I didn't like.
February 28, 2016 3:14 pm I came out of "Superman Returns" merely underwhelmed; the more I watch it, I think it's the worst of the 6. The bigger issue, though, is: Why can't we have a good Superman movie?
February 7, 2016 12:36 pm Thanks for the therapy session. I just reread some issues of Batman and Detective from 1989-90 and was blown away by what a breath of fresh air they were. I just don't understand who DC's target audience is these days.
February 2, 2016 7:17 pm Neal Adams himself convinced me to slab a comic, but I now regret it. CGC didn't think it was in nearly the shape Neal thought it was (and frankly, so did I--they must have crazy high standards). Now I have a moderately valuable comic in a slab, but I'd rather be able to look at it.
