I got this book based purely on nostalgia, as back in the 90′s these things were popping up all over…

August 2, 2011 8:52 am I am hoping that whatever stories Jason won't be able to include in the last stretch of issues would eventually get released as an anthology/one shot years after the series ends.
July 15, 2011 1:02 am Scott Pilgrim, the Kotobukiya statues, and Mighty Mugg are what i like the most. Realistically though, the Mugg is what i would drop cash for so Cap, Galactus and Iron Man would have some company on my shelf. I do wish that the Mighty Mugg SDCC exclusives were characters that arent as popular as Spidey and Wolvie though. It would be great to have a Mugg of Rocket Raccoon or Moon Knight.
October 10, 2010 3:57 am Damn it. Why can't they port this over to Wii!?
September 8, 2010 10:22 am Would my being in another country affect my eligibility for these prizes?
August 22, 2010 10:37 am Well, I'm really happy about the move. IDW's Angel books were kind of pricey that I had to drop it at some point. At least I won't feel weird paying for the two books if they're going to be priced the same by Dark Horse.

If you want to try Evangelion out, there are two new movies that were just released, Evangelion1.0 and Evangelion 2.0. It's a re-telling of the series with a lot of tweaks and new story twists. So far, it's looking to be like a reboot and continuation of the first series, JJ Abrams Styar Trek-style.

@Molly, perhaps you can make a separate article on which Gundam series one could try, since there are a lot of series.

June 30, 2010 6:40 am While I'm no longer capable of watching all the Full Metal Alchemist episodes I have on DVD simply because I can't stay awake, I have always enjoyed the FMA volumes I've read so far. Good story, and beautiful art work.
June 23, 2010 10:00 am Re: Jim Lee's comment, I think they're testing the waters for digitally exclusive content by releasing Zuda content on the app. I'm downloading Bayou right now. Zuda's web comic format suits an iPhone screen well and once they got that down pat, we'll see digitally exclusive content from Vertigo, Wildstorm and DC soon.

I read both Manga and Western comics, and most of the time, when I see a western superhero dressed up in a book with manga art style, I somehow unconsciously just dismiss it and move on. When I look for Manga, it's because I want to read something totally different from my regular western books.

    As an added tidbit:

During last year's Free Comic Book Day, the artist for Wolverine: Prodigal Son, Wilson Tortosa was doing signings and sketches at our shop. He was dressed almost like Wolverine was in the cover of that book. By far the only artist I know of who cosplays as one of the characters he draws at an event.

After re-reading the comics I bought and loved in the 90's (examples being WildC.A.T.s volume 1, Batman: Knightfall, Death of Superman), I found that they weren't as good as I always beleived them to be. Some of them still hold up, some of them don't. Does that mean that they were bad stories? No.  I have learned to shift my expectations a little whenever I pick up something to read that's from the old days like the Showcases and Essentials. That way, I enjoy it for what it is, without having to compare it to the standards of the books I read today.

     Great article Tom. Well done.
