Pick of the Week - 03.17.2010 - Siege #3
On Mar 17, 2010 6:54 PMAs a Marvel comics fan this has been a really amazing story, and as a comicbook fan it's rewarded me with brilliant narrative art. My only disappointment is as a fan of what JMS built in his short tenure on Thor, seeing that torn apart so quickly as the casual backdrop to this epic tale. I just hope that Matt Fraction builds an equally immersive new world for Thor when this has wrapped up. But...
Go to CommentEXCLUSIVE: 'Hawkeye and Mockingbird' Ongoing Series From Marvel!
On Mar 10, 2010 3:00 PMThe few preview images here look nice and stylish. I'm looking forward to the series even though I had "quibles" with the writing in the mini series. I'm curious to find out why the special spy group (WCA) will still be around since I thought it was created as a response to Osborn taking over (aka disbanding) SHIELD, but that's just a passing curiosity. Thanks for the great news!

On Mar 1, 2010 12:17 PMIf the whole idea that you have more entertainment choices versus fewer makes you mad because you're "compelled" to buy them all regardless of quality or actual enjoyment, you may have an addiction problem. No one bitches when they hear that GM just released ANOTHER new model of car - they simply choose not to buy it and keep driving what ever car they were already enjoying. This kind of "too-...

On Feb 8, 2010 12:18 PMIt really looks like they cropped the image to hide a tail going off to the left of the picture. If it is a T-Rex then it's Devil Dinosaur!
Go to CommentREVIEW: 'Planet Hulk'
On Feb 2, 2010 12:00 PMI thought it was an interesting choice to insert the cameos throughout the story - Star Lord and Adam Warlock both show up in random crowd scenes, and the Grandmaster was hanging out in the shadows behind the Red King. There may have been more, but I was watching it tonight while doing an assignment for work and wasn't actively watching every scene. I'll have to watch it a...

On Jan 22, 2010 9:28 PMI can't even begin to fathom why this is generating any passion. No retailer is being forced to do anything with merchandise that they, not DC or Marvel, bought and currenty own. Marvel is just choosing to create publicity by offering merchants a way to unload merchandise that they already own that may be "dead," and in the process obtain new merchandise that might sell.&n...
Go to CommentMoore Takes a Step Too Far
On Sep 24, 2009 3:00 AMMoore's becoming the new John Byrne. A guy who once shaped the industry but who no longer occupies the spot of active prominence that he once did. So now he's content to sit in a belltower and take random shots at whoever comes his way. Such is life. He's a hell of a writer though, and I do love to be entertained by his fiction! His reality, well, that's entertaini...
Go to Comment08.09.2009 - 'G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra'
On Aug 7, 2009 3:00 AMMy son and I both had a great deal of fun with this movie - it was NOT great cinema, but what reasonable person would expect that from G.I. Joe? What it was, was two hours of great entertainment! I had fun, and that's all that I ask from my movies most times. Also, it had more action that Transformers 2, which made it more entertaining by far in my book.
Go to Comment03.06.2009 - 'Watchmen'
On Mar 5, 2009 4:16 AMOverall, I felt that the film lacked a strong emotional impact because it tried too hard to preserve too many of the different aspects of the comicbook series. Ultimately, there's too much in the comic to present it all in a single film, and I think that in order for the film to have had the same emotional resonance as the comic it needed to be significantly adapted and reworked for the ...
