Great Moments in Comics History: Batman Family #9
May 17, 2012 10:37 pm More concerning - Robin doesn't really have pouches on his belt, so where DOES he hide those scissors? And does it hurt more when he hides them, or when he retrieves them?

Marvel/Benefit Cosmetics’ SPYGAL is Condescending To Women
May 17, 2012 10:31 pm In fairness, I haven't seen or read this comic, so I can't actually say that it's bad. The Harley Davidson Avengers book I did read, and it was really pretty terrible. I understand the profit motive here (for Marvel anyway; I doubt a custom comic makes business sense for a makeup company or a motorcycle manufacturer), and I assume that few comic readers will actually see these, so there's little risk to the Marvel brand. So if businesses want to throw money around to rent Marvel characters and creators for ill-advised marketing products, then I think Marvel would be fools not to get paid. So grab the cash while you can Marvel, and enjoy yourselves as you laugh all the way to the bank!

ABC Passes on ‘A.K.A. Jessica Jones’; Says ‘Hulk’ Still Possible For 2013
May 15, 2012 10:55 pm Did you read the last page of Moon Knight? I'm pretty sure Marc Specter's lines are Bendis' own words of frustration with Hollywood!

Tony DeZuniga (1941-2012)
May 10, 2012 9:39 pm He was a gifted creator and a fine contributor to the comics industry. I'll look back on his work fondly for years to come; he left a lasting mark. My best wishes are with his family and friends as they adjust to their loss.

Weekly Sketch Up – 04.13.2012
April 13, 2012 6:42 pm Not piling on, but the "eyebrows" do indicate that this is Sasquatch. I'm really intrigued by how heavily you can see Lee's influence from the Byrne/Austin artwork from X-Men. It's remarkable how much he was borrowing from them when he started in comics!

Top 5: Superheroes Who Started Out In The Circus
April 3, 2012 10:12 pm In light of how soft the 3 and 4 spots are, no circus-stunt-rider Johnny Blaze does seem like a rather large oversight!

CONAN THE BARBARIAN #2
March 19, 2012 10:14 pm No offense, but your review for a book that you rate as 4 out of 5 stars and as being 100% on board for, is very heavy on what not to like, and noticeably thin on positives. Why should I want to read this book? Just curious! Thanks!

What’s Wrong With You? I Have No Problem with BEFORE WATCHMEN
February 3, 2012 6:51 pm I don't think it's our " job" to support the industry as if comics were tsunami victims in need of aid. It's our " job" to find what entertains us and buy that. It's the job (paid job, at that) of comic company executives, contracted and free lance creators, and independent comic producers to make stories/ comics that we WANT to buy, simply because we actually enjoy them. You can make purchasing decisions out of pity if you like, but that's not why I buy comics. And I won't avoid this series because Alan Moore doesn't approve, any more than I'll buy it because I think the creative teams seem like decent people. I'll flip through the books, check out the previews or reviews, and buy the product that looks good. As for the fear that the whole industry might fail, well, I tend to agree that's a real risk. But as much as I'd miss this format/ medium, truth is I can't afford to finance the whole industry, so I don't plan on wasting my family's money on grand gestures of industry support for product I don't enjoy.
