October 2, 2013 1:47 am There's still a little part of me that forlornly hopes we'll eventually get a new on-the-couch discussion video.
September 3, 2013 6:22 pm Rather than spend paragraphs lamenting this turn of events (an exercise that would not do the brilliant people behind iFanboy justice), I would just like to say that I would not be the comic reader I am today without iFanboy. Thanks for everything and best of luck with all your future endeavors, folks.
May 17, 2013 1:29 pm Generally, I don't particularly care about the personal opinions and beliefs of creators in comics, films, or any other medium beyond how it effects what they create. If I didn't watch movies or read books made by people whose politics or beliefs don't square up with mine, I wouldn't be reading many books or watching many movies. Their ability to tell me a story is the only part of them I care about.
May 16, 2013 12:05 pm I want to get excited about this game. I really do, but with the change in developer and the fact that it's a prequel, it's got me a bit cautious. I have high hopes, but I'm going to have to wait until the reviews start coming in to make my decision. And pre-rendered cut-scenes are pretty, but they don't really matter. Show us some gameplay. Not that the trailer isn't really cool. Batman vs Deathstroke is always going to be epic.
April 18, 2013 10:15 pm I really love a lot of Frank Miller's work and he's probably my favorite comic writer, but I think that at the Dark Knight Strikes Again, he had his George Lucas moment where he said "I'm Frank Miller, I can do whatever I want and it'll be genius." Josh seems to be trying really hard to give this book a lot of leeway. It doesn't really matter if things are bad intentionally or incoherent. They're still bad or incoherent.
April 11, 2013 1:03 am The only problem I had with this issue was that DC spoiled the gatefold weeks ago. Seriously, these folks don't seem to know how to avoid spoiling their own surprises.
April 5, 2013 12:17 pm I'm starting to think that DC doesn't full understand the concept of a "surprise." This is the second gatefold cover they've done a reveal on, and back when Damian died there was a massive, unmissable pop-up if you went to the DC website. Is there any chance we could figure mysteries out by actually reading the books?
March 7, 2013 11:48 pm Looks like my monthly pull list just got a little bit longer. I didn't even know about Astro City until I started going through all the old on-the-couch discussion videos (you guys really need to bring those back, they were awesome), but it's become one of my favorites. Seeing the Samaritan on the front page was as pleasant a surprise as I've had in a while.
February 25, 2013 9:48 pm Aquaman #17 Punisher: Warzone #5 I know, my pulls are a slim list. Not so much money, so I have to be picky. Really psyched about the end of Warzone. Rooting for Frank all the way. I shan't be reading Batman Inc because I don't like the concept of it and have no interest in it, but SPOILERS IN CASE YOU'VE AVOIDED THE INTERNET LIKE THE PLAGUE TODAY I'm interested to see how Damian's death pans out in the main Batman title, and I like my Batman solo, so I call that a win.
February 25, 2013 4:31 pm Maybe it's just me, but I would very much prefer that didn't happen. I feel like Robin is the Boy Wonder and thus should always be male. And I don't really care for Harper Row. She's not a bad character, but she's not terribly special either. I feel no sense of attachment to her. She's a footnote, a byline, a distraction. Her inclusion was a low point in The Court of Owls run, because she didn't seem to serve any purpose by being there other than that Snyder wanted her to be for some reason. And for her to be around for that very purpose, and to become Robin that soon would feel shallow and cheap. Damian's barely in the ground before someone else is wearing the costume? She would feel like a rebound-Robin. I think we need a Robinless Batman for at least 6 months to give the loss some credibility. He's not exactly going to be ready to throw the next kid he lays eyes on into the line of fire so soon. That and if I have to see another teenager browbeat one of the most terrifying men in the world into letting them be his sidekick I'll be rather annoyed.
