New Comics for 01/02/09 swear that this will be the year they get back in shape!

On Dec 29, 2008 5:10 PM

Incognito, Incognito, Incognito. Resolution: Read all of my Marvel DVDs. FF, ASM, Hulk, Cap, Avengers. That's about 2500 comics. I'll probably skim the 1000 or so I've read before. Now, if I can track down the X-Men disc....hello, 2010 resolutions.

12.24.2008 - New Avengers #48

On Dec 24, 2008 6:07 PM

Very good book. It's always good to see Jessica Jones kicking ass. Having just reread the Alias hardcover, it was even more sweet. BMB has a real handle on this group or characters aand I'm looking forward to what's coming up in this book. Only one false note in the entire issue, and it's one of those nit picky ones: Norman's final line, which you quoted, doesn't sound Norman-esque. Now, &qu...

The Top 5 Most Wanted Out of Print Comics

On Dec 11, 2008 9:00 AM

Great subject/article Josh. For the longest time - nearly 20 years - American Flagg! was my number one out of print series, followed by Miracleman, Hitman, et. al. Thankfully, the long awaited Definitive Edition came out this past summer and now everyone can see what a visionary Howard Chaykin was, in addititon to getting one hell of a fun read. My current Mad-on, get this F$&#ing book ...

New Comics for 12/10/08 like to dodge missles while doing backflips

On Dec 8, 2008 5:30 PM

Echo.  Worst idea(s): in 1992 I was shown the pre-web internet and came up with two or three ideas on how to create a business using/exploiting it. It's not the ideas themselves that were bad, it was me being a lazy, do-nothing that opted for the path of least resistance instead of actually doing any of them. A good idea unused is the worst idea of all.

Conor, did you cover the envelope to Wizard with your interpretation of whatever Image book was hottest that week? 'Cause, nothing got you printed more surely than dressing a business-size manilia with a fifteen year-old's lovingly rendered Grifter(tm) vs. Ripclaw(tm).

10 Heartbreaking Works of Comic Book Genius

On Dec 2, 2008 2:07 PM

Ditto to @jimski. Giant Size Astonishing (which I reread earlier tonight, coincidentally enough: "Disapointed, Ms. Frost?" "Astonished, Ms. Pryde." Then she saves the world. And, of course: Blankets, Y:TLM, Pride of Baghdad, Preacher, Walking Dead #48, BTVS:The Chain, the ends of Bone and Strangers in Paradise and - I know it's not a comic but it's related - when Li...

15 Years Later and I'm Still Reading Youngblood

On Nov 26, 2008 9:13 AM

Ron, I gotta get the childish comment in before actually addressing your article: "If you like Rob Leifeld so much, why don't you marry him?" Just kidding. I'll agree with you that art is subjective. How can I not? I've written before about how much I enjoy Karl Moline, especially whis Buffyverse work, while the whole Ifanboy crew finds it to be servicable at best. To each his own...
