June 16, 2013 5:38 pm The soundtrack was great. I got it off itunes before I saw the movie and even when I am not listening to it, it is playing in my head.
June 15, 2013 2:17 am I just got back from seeing Man of Steel and I really enjoyed it, but the original with Christopher Reeve is still the best. My biggest problem with it was I had trouble, at times, following the action, particularly in the final battle sequence between Superman and Zod, though I loved how it ended (was surprised by that, but how else could it have ended). Of the six Superman films, I put this at #3 behind Superman, the Movie at #1 and Superman II at #2. Great movie and I will see it again and take some of my kids next time. Hopefully, this movie does great at the box office, because I really want a Justice League movie.
June 14, 2013 1:03 pm The first Superman film in '78 left such an impression on me at age 7. I had the posters and all sorts of toys. Christopher Reeve will always be Superman to me, but I can enjoy the new while recalling my fondness for the past. Superman has been one of my all time favorite characters for longer than I care to remember most days, but I can still enjoy the newest version and having my 9 year old son along helps to. He is into the character for the fun of it, much like I was 35 years ago.
June 14, 2013 5:43 am I am planning to see it this weekend. If not for work, I probably have seen it already. Superman has been one of my all time favorite super heroes for as long as I can remember and I have enjoyed pretty much all of the character's incarnations in movies and tv, but the more I see of Man of Steel, the more excited I get. I just hope that it is not a big letdown (which I have a hard imagining it could ever be.)
May 24, 2013 5:14 am Marvel just needs to get the movie rights back to all of their characters no matter the cost. Shit like this is just plain retarded. I believe that Fox did this to try to through a monkey wrench into the Marvel studios plans.
May 19, 2013 2:10 am Great podcast. I really enjoy getting your guys take on the big movies, as well as comics. I liked the movie a great deal, despite the problems I had with it. I wish they had tried to make Star trek 12 and not did what they did and just did a retelling of Space Seed and Wrath of Khan all together. They are doing that in the ongoing IDW Star Trek series. Also, the Mudd Incident that is referred to in the film, is covered in the 4 issue series, Countdown to Darkness.
May 18, 2013 2:16 am I have been reading all of the Valiant books since the re-launch last year and X-O has been my favorite of the bunch. The current storyline, Planet Death, has been pretty exciting. Aric is waging war on the Vine homeworld. Good thing he has a super powered sentient alien power armor. I like to think of this character as Conan in an Iron Man suit.
May 18, 2013 1:32 am I was a bit disappointed with some of the 're-hashing' of the Wrath of Khan (which is still the best Trek movie), most notably the scream by Spock after Kirk dies. Cheese pizza, hold everything. Having said that, I enjoyed the film quite a bit, since I go to the movies to have fun and be entertained and both of the those goals were accomplished in spades. Is it perfect? No, but I have yet to see a picture movie in all my years. So have come pretty close, but not quite. I do plan to see it at least once more while it is in theaters.
May 17, 2013 12:53 am Saw it today and was not disappointed. Yeah, some of the plot twists I was not the most fond of but I had fun while watching the movie. I even cried during the Kirk death scene, like I do every time I watch Spock's death in The Wrath of Khan. I think it would have been better if instead of Khan he was just a different Super Augment. Seemed to be pandering by using Khan. I plan to see it again and take may boys with me and even my daughters, if they want.
May 12, 2013 6:45 pm no biggie! thanks for the quick fix. I am so used to the new Podcast on Sunday afternoons/evenings, I thought I was going to have a panic attack!
