Name: DJ Quinn

Bio: One of the weirdest things about being a member of this site is watching the divergence of tastes. I've read an issue of all of Kirkman's various titles, and I don't like his writing. The same is true for Rick Remender. They're just not my style. Bendis. "Chew." Mark Millar. All very popular people or comics that I don't enjoy. It's strange to be in the minority on a site like this, and it can feel a bit like being constantly told that your tastes are wrong, but I think that diversity, and that exposure to different perspectives, is important.

I know that the iFanboys didn’t think much of this series, but for me it was just about perfect. It…

Classic Legion fun: like the New Mutants without the X-Men baggage.

January 27, 2012 3:11 pm There are more of the former, but the latter are more cunning. It's a tough call.
January 24, 2012 11:07 am It's funny: 5, 4 and 3 are three of my favorite Avengers characters, behind only Gilgamesh, Triathlon and Dr. Druid, and followed by the female Yellowjacket. Similarly, I have zero interest in reading an Avengers book about Captain America, Thor and Iron Man. I really like Z-list characters, which I suppose makes me a hipster comic-book fan: "My favorite Avenger? You've probably never heard of him, but I'm really more of an Astro City fan, anyway."
January 17, 2012 5:04 pm The one-shot I'm most looking forward to is Wolverine vs Wolverine. Twenty pages of Logan stabbing himself in the face. It'll be awesome. Isn't it really "Avengers and Wolverine and his X-Men vs. Cyclops's Brotherhood of Evil Mutants?"
December 6, 2011 9:28 pm I predict that the Phoenix Force is actually heading for Scarlett Witch, who will end the mini-series with a reboot of Marvel's product line, an initiative that Marvel will brand as the "New Universe," and all but two books will feature Wolverine, Spider-Man, Thor, Iron Man, Hulk and/or Captain America. The unexpected critical darling of the line will be the horror series "Dr. Druid," written by indie-comics star Joe Hill. It will be cancelled after eight issues. Mark Waid's "Daredevil" will be untouched by the "re-envisioning," because even Perlmutter doesn't hate /every/ beautiful thing.
November 17, 2011 8:44 pm Actually, Journey apparently sells 28k a month and double-ships (does that mean that it sells 55k? I have no idea). I suspect that it's not in any danger. It outsells Hulk, Deadpool, Moon Knight and New Mutants. If I had to lay any money on cancellations, it would be Academy, Daken, X-Factor and Generation Hope (which I don't think will survive without Gillen - nor should it).
November 17, 2011 9:35 am I'm glad he mentioned the pies, because I was wondering what his fingers were doing, off-panel.
October 29, 2011 10:33 pm Brian Azzarello doesn't worry about writer's block. In the dark of the night, when it is alone and can't sleep, writer's block worries about Brian Azzarello.
October 29, 2011 10:30 pm Brian Azzarello doesn't have a letterer; he just punches the page and sound effects are the paper crying.
October 29, 2011 10:27 pm I think that Josh's ass *will* read well in trade. Too often, it has left readers hanging from month to month. When we get to see the whole breadth of it at once, the great scope, the wide view, I think that it will really come together. I, for one, look forward to getting to sit down and take it all in. Not that I'm saying Josh's ass is bad month-to-month, I just think that it will be better in trade. Certainly better than Fear Itself...
September 19, 2011 6:45 pm As long as Brown is still around, I'm down without a frown. I have to say, I'd enjoy it anyway, but knowing Stephanie' is in the new DC(ay) makes my day. As long as Grant doesn't blow her away.
