How can you not find strong, heroic, or determined sexy?  I think Josh meant that it's sexy in not the cheesecake way.  And I have to agree with him, I found Kate incredibly sexy in this issue.

June 25, 2009 1:34 am This was such a great issue.  For some reason, I was looking forward to this the least out of all the relaunched bat books.  Rucka was why I picked it up, and I'm so glad I did.  I had no idea who Batwoman is, and as people have mentioned so far, this is the best way to get to know her.  Rucka's character development is just top notch.  And I have to tip my hat to Williams's art.  I had to flip to the front page multiple times to make sure it was the same penciller because of the dramatic dichotomy between the Batwoman and Kate Kane pages.  I have barely started on my ridiculous stack this week, but Detective Comics is a very strong contender for my PoW.

The trailer definitely makes the story sound more like a thriller than a murder mystery.  Even the narrator sounds like he's done trailers for horror/slasher movies.

Excited about the movie nonetheless.  Loved Whiteout!

June 9, 2009 6:48 pm I believe Kobra was in the last Rucka/Trautman arc of Checkmate.  Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
June 9, 2009 6:46 pm I can't, for the life of me, remember what happened in the first issue.  I might pick this issue anyway.

I just got back from Collector's Paradise and man that place was packed.  Ed and the group really did a great job.  I didn't get a chance to speak with Waid, Guggenheim and the other guests as it was really crowded around that area.  Oh well.

Oh and I saw Joe Casey hanging out with the other guests as well.

This is a really interesting article.  My roommate from college actually asked to read some of my trades and the first ones I recommended were non-superhero ones.  He loved Y the Last Man, and it was a good thing I had more than one trade.  Then DMZ.  Finally, I ventured to hand him the first volumes of Invincible, and I was surprised to see that he loved them.  Unfortunately, he really is the epitome of a casual reader and had no intention of even buying trades for himself.  However, I'm still proud that I was able to demonstrate to him the validity of this medium as a great way of conveying fantastic stories.
