I'm currently a student in Oregon. Got my start in comics after watching the second X-Men movie. I'm a big X-Men fan, but aside from that, I actually read very few straight-up superhero books. I'm much more into things like Walking Dead, Criminal, DMZ, and Echo.

On Apr 15, 2009 10:59 PMNo Hero, Warren Ellis. The art is spectualar(ly disturbing) and the plot is engrossing. Only thing is, the 7-issue run isn't complete yet. but, REALLY REALLY GOOD. In case you don't know, it involves understanding the psyche of people who would become superheroes if it meant taking hallucinogens that would forever change you, and what it means to be the one who holds the sec...

On Feb 5, 2009 12:00 PMGreat article Sonia! As a relative newcomer, I don't necessarily have quite the same weight on my shoulders (I only probably average 2-5 books a week, depending on how a month spaces out). On Dec 22, 2008 1:48 PMNice article. I actually just handed over my copy of Kill Your Boyfriend to a friend who doesn't really read comics the other day. It totally worked like you said; I just handed it to him and said he should give it a shot. A few days later and he's telling me how much he enjoyed it, no prompting on my part. It's a good feeling.

On Dec 16, 2008 9:31 AMHmm, is this issue something I can pick up with no prior experience and understand what's going on, or do I need to wait? Good article, and I'd like to give it a shot, but don't know if I should do it with this issue or not.
