Book of the Month – Flex Mentallo: Man of Muscle Mystery – The Deluxe Edition
May 7, 2012 6:39 pm This book made me realize that the whole idea of Fill-in artists is something I wish would disappear.
No matter how good the writer, to see a cohesive, fully realized body of work by both artist and writer is just so much more special. It takes a story from good to greatness.

MorrisonCon – Coming September 2012
May 1, 2012 1:48 pm Absolutely great idea Ron, wishing you all the best with this. I think it's a great idea, and it really captures the spirit of community and comics. Very inspiring.
Here's a question for you:
Looking at the schedule it looks like a lot of potential socializing and fun, which is awesome. But i'm wondering, how would a comic fan going alone, fare at an event like this?
I'm a pretty social dude, but even i have my moments standing at the bar, sipping it solo. : )
Have you guys got ideas for breaking down the potential awkwardness/shyness of fans-creators and getting people to interact, or is it just up to the fans really to make it work?

Chris Roberson Talks About Leaving DC
April 26, 2012 4:12 pm I would suggest that if you vocally support Moore or Roberson's side of the argument, then you should do so financially as well by boycotting the book.
I my eyes, anyone that buys it is endorsing it and has made their stance cleat. I think fans easily forget that they are as complicit in this kind of behavior as DC is.

Pick of the Week – 04.25.2012 – Daredevil #11
April 26, 2012 4:03 pm hey guys,
i've been collecting this DD run but haven't read the latest 3 issues so i had no idea about the crossover.
I'd like to pick up the tie ins in Spiderman and Punisher when i hit the comic shop this afternoon. Can anyone let me know the issue numbers? (sorry to be lazy. on my phone : ) )

What’s Wrong With You? I Have No Problem with BEFORE WATCHMEN
February 3, 2012 3:44 pm my question is: but is alan moore gonna read them?
he's moaned about not reading any new comics these days, but no matter how he feels, i think that even he will be intrigued enough to pick it up.
As for me, i'll give it a go, but it's going to be very bitter-sweet. Rights ownership aside; no creator should have to suffer his work being published/altered without his blessing. I know we live in the ever-transforming ether of copyright laws, but this is not a fan remix or a piece of fan fiction, this is a company capitalizing on a property in a very typical way. The whole notion of creating a prequel years after the fact is absurd. I hate george lucas for ever allowing this idea into the collective conscious.

You and Your Kid Stuff
January 9, 2012 1:40 pm fantastic article Jim.
One of my most vivid memories involves the hulk tv show : )
You have to wonder though, how sad will it be the day your own children outgrow your interest? I like to think though, that by giving them such a rich and creative foundation, that eventually, even if they stray, they'll find their way back .
and you're right, nothing could be cooler.

Separating the Creator from the Created
November 25, 2011 1:28 pm The article below offers some tough words on Frank Miller's recent rant. I usually like the Guardian's journalism but it's severely disappointing that the article writes off the comic-book medium in its entirety with one sweeping generalization.
still, some of the stuff it's saying about Miller's point of view is interesting
